Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1455

"As I said, if I ever lie to you, my life is yours to take," Marion said sincerely.

His firm tone convinced Debra, making her wonder if Michael was mistaken.

"Why so serious? I was just joking," she said, pecking him on the cheek. "We've had a long day. Let's get some rest."

"Okay," Marion agreed.

In bed, he held her tightly.

Unable to sleep, she whispered, "It feels like we've never fought before."

Marion wasn't asleep either. He chuckled, "If that's your wish, we can pick a small thing to fight about."

"I don't want to fight," Debra said, turning over to face him. "If you're lying to me, keep on. Just don't let me find out that you don't love me."

"I love you," Marion said solemnly.

But his love was different from that of others. Debra was the person he loved most in this world, the one he wanted to devote his entire life to. There would never be another person as important to him as her.

Late into the night, Debra was fast asleep.

Marion pulled the blanket over her and quietly got out of bed. In the moonlight, his face lost all expression.

He stroked her cheek and left the room.

...

A loud crash echoed outside the Lowe Mansion.
