Robert always knew Drake was dense, but not so dense.
Michael and Enoch were outnumbered, but the high ground gave them the edge.
Time ticked by.
Robert glanced at Oscar and Theda circling, then at Fermin prepping a sneak attack.
Enoch had been cornered. His desperate stand was just a last-ditch effort to stall.
"Marion, what's your take?" Robert asked.
Marion glanced at Randy, who pulled out his gun. "He's not my dad anymore."
He knew they were holding back because of him.
Randy loaded the gun. "This is on me."
He had learned how to shoot from training abroad, courtesy of Enoch.
Enoch raised his pistol, locking eyes with Randy. Between them, there had been little communication.
This might be the first and the last as well.
Randy aimed at Enoch but hesitated for a split second. That was all it took.
Enoch fired quickly, hitting Randy's shoulder.
