Juan saw him waver and spoke. "Get up. Let your boss see you're fine."
The "dead" guards stood up and dusted themselves off. It was all just a scare tactic.
"You think your guys could waltz into my lockdown?" Juan said. "If I didn't let them in, they'd never see the gate."
Solomon felt the gap between them. He thought he'd grown strong enough to hold his ground. But to Juan, he was still a rookie pulling cheap stunts.
"Don't forget your promise," Juan said, walking off.
Both crews cleared out. Everyone had seen it coming.
When Juan teamed up with the four families to deal with the Illuminati back in the day, his tactics were always unpredictable.
Solomon's defeat was understandable.
One of Solomon's guards stepped up. "Boss, we had orders from your parents. Mr. Nichols just wants to toughen up Miss Houston. Don't sweat it."
Solomon stayed quiet, wondering if old dogs still had the sharpest teeth.
Ben approached Lillian. "Miss, hit the track. Mr. Nichols says you run 800 meters in three minutes 50 seconds, or you keep going."
