Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1814

Stanley spun around to see Lillian staring at him unblinkingly.

It was the same kind of look Debra had given his mother and him 20 years ago.

Resentment boiled over, and he snapped, "When did you wake up?"

"Never passed out," Lillian replied nonchalantly.

She'd been trained young to sense trouble. The second she hit the office, her guard was up. She never breathed in that ether.

"No way you'd suspect me," Stanley barked.

He had been playing the perfect chemistry teacher. No one had ever suspected him.

"Why did you do this?" she demanded. "There is no benefit to speak of. When my godfather finds this place, you'll be screwed. It's not too late now. Let me go before they catch you."

Stanley laughed, "Debra and Marion raised a dumb kid. I went through all this to snatch you, and you're telling me to let you go? Do you think that's possible?"
