Before he could swing, Lillian amped it up. "Help! This guy is selling poison candy and trying to hit me."
The passers-by gathered, pointing. Lillian played the rogue to perfection.
"You think you can con me?" the owner roared. "You don't know who I am."
"Doesn't matter," Lillian shot back. "My friend is dying because of you. Own up, or I'll call the police to shut you down."
The owner, realizing he had hit a brick wall, quickly switched gears. "Alright, alright. If he's sick from my stuff, I'll cover it. Come, let's talk inside. I already called an ambulance. It's coming. You don't want him lying in the street, right?"
"Fine," Lillian said. "But you close your shop till the ambulance gets here. No more selling your poison."
Solomon, still writhing on the ground, groaned, 'Does she even know what she's doing?'
The owner had his guys carry Solomon inside, then slammed the iron shutter down.
"Idiot," Solomon hissed, pulling Lillian behind him.
