Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1831

By the time Drake snapped out of it, her friend was pulling Debra away, whispering, "That guy has been staring at you. Is he nuts?"

"Who are you calling nuts?" Drake snapped.

The girl flinched, thrown by his boldness. In their world, rich kids weren't exactly stable.

"Sorry, she didn't mean you," Debra said, stepping in.

Her eyes met his, but they were timid.

Drake raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Anyone else staring at you then?"

He stepped closer, looming in front of her. Debra shut her eyes, scared.

Drake blinked, surprised she was so easy to rattle.

"Know why?" he smirked.

She shook her head, her eyes wide.

"Because..." He leaned in, almost nose-to-nose.

She fidgeted, stepping back. "I don't wanna know."

"I'm late for registration," she said. "Please, stop following me."

She hurried toward the lecture hall.

Drake paused, surprised by her politeness. She was such a softie here.

He compared the two versions of her. The contrast was weirdly striking.

Then an idea hit him, sharp and clear. If he ever wanted to mess with her, this was his one shot.
