Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1865

"Sir, shouldn't we check on them?" Barton probed.

He knew Andrew was worried about Debra's safety. Clubs weren't exactly secure.

Andrew remained unfazed. "Keep going."

The executives hurried through their reports, sensing the shift in mood.

Time ticked by.

...

At Glamor Club, Erica, already half-drunk, glanced at her phone.

An hour had passed since they arrived, but Andrew still hadn't shown up.

He always doted on Debra. It was hard to believe he would let her party like this without checking in.

'Something is off.' Erica thought, about to dig deeper when a bodyguard rushed in.

He scanned the crowd for her. "Miss Mathis, where are you?"

He pushed through the dancers and found her. Erica frowned. "It's after hours. What's up?"

The bodyguard's face was grim. "There's an emergency at the company. They're holding an urgent meeting. You need to come."

"What? Everything was fine when I left today," Erica grumbled.

It took her a while to focus and recognize him.

"Andrew," she muttered. "I didn't mean to come here. I thought you weren't coming for me."

Andrew sighed, pinching her nose. "Enjoying the drinks?"

"They taste good, making me all floaty," she giggled, clinging to him.

"Sir, the car's ready," Barton said.

Andrew nodded, scooping up Debra. "Let's go."
