"It's just rumors. Don't freak out. We'll see what kind of person she is," Erica said, determined.

Debra felt uneasy, hesitating. "Maybe we should drop it. I don't want to go."

"What? We're almost there!" Erica glanced at her. "You don't want to know what's up with them?"

"I'm scared," Debra admitted. "What if we find something real?"

She didn't want to chain him down with their engagement if he had someone he really liked.

"Don't fret. You're the one engaged to Andrew. His family wouldn't let him marry anyone else. We're just scoping things out, not crashing their date. Chill," Erica said, trying to calm her.

But Debra's anxiety grew. Just because the Potters wouldn't allow another woman, she feared Andrew was sacrificing his happiness for her.

They reached the Royal Grand Hotel as dusk settled.

The manager recognized Erica and offered to park her car. Erica waved him off. "Don't worry about that. Is Andrew Potter here?"

"He is. He booked the main hall, but we've got private rooms available," the manager said.

Erica blinked. 'Andrew booked the hall but left the rooms open? Why not a private room for a date? Weird.'

"So, that's the kind of woman Andrew likes," Debra murmured.

The woman was mature, elegant, and polished. She was a perfect match for Andrew. No wonder people called them the golden couple.

"What is he doing, laughing it up with that woman? Has he forgotten he is engaged? I'm going in to give him a piece of my mind!" Erica said, rolling up her sleeves.

Debra grabbed her. "Don't!"

"Don't worry. I've got this," Erica said, charging toward the hotel.
