Marion and Robert rarely got this drunk.
But even though they passed out, their instincts stayed sharp. Anyone who touched them now might get a reflex punch.
"Forget it. They'll sleep it off here. At worst, they'll wake up with sore backs," Solomon said.
"What?" Lillian didn't hear him.
She was already trying to help Jordan up. As she did, the bottle slipped from his pocket and hit the floor.
Made of special glass, it didn't shatter.
Lillian set Jordan down and picked it up. "Nice material. Didn't even crack."
Curious, she opened the cap. In an instant, a strange scent hit her nose.
Solomon smacked her hand. "Don't mess with other people's stuff."
"I'm his niece. He won't mind it." She shrugged but closed the bottle anyway.
Jordan mumbled something, and she leaned over. "What?"
"What was he saying?"
"No idea."
Maybe because they'd talked too much about the past, Jordan's mind drifted to when he joined the army.
Back then, he was still a reckless kid.
