As soon as Sienna stepped into the room, a crowd of people hurried over to greet her, all hoping to get noticed by this big shot.
But Sienna had a clear plan–she gently nudged Vivian into the spotlight, steering everyone to talk to her instead.
Vivian, though had started out nervous and unsure, was now handling everything with case. Thanks to Sienna’s encouragement, she’d really found her footing
“Vivian, I’m a bit tired. Why don’t you chat with them for a while? You should be pretty familiar with the corporation’s files after going over them in the car, aren’t you?” Sienna said.
Only then did Vivian realize why Lana had stretched a thirty–minute drive into an hour–Sienna wanted her to have enough time to get familiar with all those files.
She couldn’t let Sienna downl
Sienna retreated a step, observing as Vivian navigated the conversation with surprising poise. She wasn’t quite natural yet, but the ease in her posture, the fluidity of her gestures–she was getting there.
So she casually picked up a glass of wine and stood silently behind Vivian, “Sienna, someone called.
Hearing the familiar voice, Sienna turned around and saw Wayne.
His eyes were slightly red. Sienna offered him a gentle, elegant smile, glanced around, and said, “Let’s talk outside.”
Here, she was the center of attention, with countless eyes staring right at her every second
There were bound to be some unnecessary misunderstandings
“Sure” Wayne nodded.
His breath caught as Sienna stepped ahead–her silhouette painted in twilight, stirring his heart like a storm he couldn’t name “Sienna, ten years ago, I thought”
Wayne, Tim sorry for making you all worry. I’m okay now. I lost my memory ten years ago–Fate played a trick on me,” Sienna said softly.
Wayne moved nearer. In the dim light, Sienna could see the faint redness around his eyes, hear the way his voice fractured on her name. “It’s a blessing that you’re back, Sienna. Can I hug you!”
Wayne’s eyes held nothing extra–just pure longing for his friend and a deep sense of guih.
Sienna opened her arms and nodded. “Sure.”
Wayne hugged her, feeling her warmth. ‘She’s really back; he mused with satisfaction
Sienna and Nora had been friends since they were kids, so she and Wayne were friends toą.. In her heart, she’d always seen him as an older brother.
“I’m really fine now, Wayne,” Sienna said softly
Noticing someone approaching, she gently patted his arm.
Wayne took the hint and stepped back, punting some distance between them.
“Nienna, how have you done all these years? Wayne asked, his voice tinged with concern.
Part of him was truly worried she might’ve fallen in with the wrong crowd after losing her memory overseas. The other part just wanted to know if she’d settled down and started a family.
Tve been doing well. Someone took me in,” Sienna replied.
sienna met his gaze and said, “Wayne, there’s something I want to talk to you about. Is now a good time?”
