Chapter 170
After settling both Amber and Winifred in, only then did Sienna return to her own room, refusing Amber’s request to sleep with her that night.
Lana and Reno had been waiting for quite some time. Sienna finally took off her coat, revealing the gruesome, terrifying wound on her back.
“Miss Enna, we failed our job,” Lana and Reno said, their voices trembling.
Lana and Reno’s eyes turned red as they looked at the huge, ugly wound on her pale back. ‘How much pain must she be in?‘ they both thought, hearts aching for her.
Sienna sat down, her face unreadable, and Reno lit a cigarette for her. Her eyes were so darkened and intense, her presence was suffocating, pressing down on both of them.
The oppressive silence seemed to flicker with the cigarette’s glow in her hand.
Lana and Reno stood frozen, not daring to even breathe, just waiting for her to speak.
“Lana, some things just have to be handled in person, but I can’t get away right now. I need you to head to Pyreson. If anyone steps out of line, you know what to do–don’t bother keeping them around,” Sienna said coldly.
“Understood, Miss Enna,” Lana replied respectfully.
Reno hesitated, not sure how to bring it up, but Lana spoke first. “Miss Enna, we just got word from Meridia–they said unless you keep the Noir family name forever, Thorn Noir can’t be killed.”
Reno couldn’t help but grumble, “Seriously, they’ve got no shame. They can’t bear to lose you, Miss Enna, so they’re dragging in some nobody like an ant. It’s not like you can split yourself in two…”
“Reno.” Lana cut her off before she could finish.
Reno immediately dropped to her knees. “Miss Enna, I spoke out of turn.” ·
“Pathetic clowns,” Sienna sneered. “Whether Thorn Noir stays or not is up to my adoptive parents–who are they to try and threaten me? If that’s how they want to play, then there’s no need to keep those people alive.”
“Understood, Miss Enna. Some idiot who doesn’t know their place has reached out to the Winslow family–looks like they’re trying to put pressure on you through them,” Lana reported.
“The Winslow family, huh? Got it. Tell Adrian Winslow to come see me tomorrow,” Sienna said coolly
“Understood.” Lana nodded.
“Apply the medicine,” Sienna ordered, her voice cold and authoritative.
“Alright, Miss Enna. It might hurt a little, so please bear with it,” Lana replied gently.
Sienna didn’t even bat an eye, her face completely calm. “Draw up the contract–give the Bayer family a 70% cut. Reno, bring me my uncles‘ medical records tomorrow. And send a copy of Winifred’s medical files to Zane. Let him get familiar with the case. He’ll come help me out next week.”
“Understood.” Lana nodded.
Winifred just couldn’t fall asleep–she wasn’t sure if it was excitement or something else. She decided to step out for a walk, only to spot Amber sneaking around, hugging her pillow tightly as she slipped out of her room.
Winifred hurried after her.
Right as Amber was about to knock on Sienna’s door, Winifred caught her by the wrists, stopping her in her tracks.

Amber jumped, her eyes going wide. ‘Did she just show up out of nowhere? How does she walk without making a sound?‘ Amber wondered, her heart racing.
“What are you doing?” Winifred demanded.
