Chapter 177
“Wow, Winifred, you really caught me off guard. I never thought you’d make it back. So, what kind of dirty tricks did you use to get reinstated? Care to spill the tea for everyone?” she sneered.
Sylvie was sure Winifred must’ve used some shady connections to get back in. Otherwise, how could a broke orphan with no power, no money, and no backing possibly pull this off?
Winifred shot her a wicked grin, eyes full of contempt. “Sylvie, what are you even? You think you’re qualified to stand there and talk to me? Get lost.”
“You–you’re way out of line, Winifred! Just because you found yourself a sugar daddy doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want!” Sylvie snapped, her voice trembling with anger.
“A sugar daddy, huh? So is the rumor true about Winifred? Did she really… whore herself for money?” one student whispered, eyes wide with curiosity.
“For sure! She used to be dirt poor. But look at her now–those clothes she’s wearing? No way they’re cheap,” another student chimed in, nodding. Winifred wasn’t the type to put up with anyone’s crap. She kicked Sylvie, who was bouncing around like a grasshopper in front of her, sending her flying with a scream.
“Did I let you all get too comfortable? Do you really think I’m someone you can mess with? If you’ve got a death wish, try saying one more word. I might not kill you, but crippling you? That’s a piece of cake for me,” she said coldly.
In a flash, every student sat down and shut up, not daring to make a sound.
Only Sylvie, tears streaming down her face from the pain, clenched her fists–her rage completely taking over. She lost it and charged at Winifred, clawing at the air as she screamed, “Winifred, I’m going to kill you!”
But the very next second, she stopped dead in her tracks, her face going ghostly pale as she caught sight of what was right in front of her. She screamed inwardly, ‘A snake! There’s a snake!‘
“Sienna, do you want to go visit your grandparents? They’ve really missed you all these years,” Calvin suggested.
Sienna glanced at the time. “Maybe next time, Uncle Calvin. I’ve got something to take care of today, so I’ll head out now.”
Sienna just missed Leo, who was Calvin’s longtime friend. When Leo met up with Calvin, he opened two bottles of wine with a flourish. “Calvin, these are from a foreign friend of mine–each bottle is worth eighty grand! Let’s try some.”
Calvin smiled and pushed the glass in front of him away. “Leo, I’m not drinking today. Did you bring the ZS serum I asked you to test yesterday? I want to inject it now.”
Leo’s face stiffened for a second, but he quickly returned to normal. “Calvin, I totally forgot to bring it. But honestly, from what I’ve seen, that stuff really isn’t suitable for you. Are you sure you want to inject it? You’re literally gambling with your life! If anything goes wrong, there’s no way to fix it, you know?”
Calvin hesitated for a moment, then nodded with determination. “Leo, to tell you the truth, this stuff was given to me by my niece. I trust her completely, so could you please go back to the hospital and bring it over? I want you to give me the injection.”
Leo couldn’t even fake a smile anymore, his face stiffening. “Calvin, since that’s your decision, there’s nothing more I can say. But actually, I came here today with some good news for you.”
“What good news?” Calvin asked, curiosity lighting up his face.
“Have you heard of the famous surgeon, Iris Grant?” Leo asked, sounding genuinely excited.
Calvin nodded. “Iris Grant? Of course, I know her. She’s an incredible doctor–she’s won a ton of medical awards and is known as the youngest pemas

doctor in the country.”
Leo’s face beamed with joy. “That’s right! Calvin, it took me ages to get this miracle doctor to agree to see you.
“I told her about your case, and she said there’s a real chance your legs could recover–you might even be able to stand up and walk again! This is the best news ever, Calvin.
