“Hey, what are you doing? I can walk. Vivian, you’re such a rough woman. Who’d ever want to marry you anyway?” Amber grumbled, clearly annoyed.

Vivian let go of her, crossed her arms, and gave her a look of pure exasperation. “Amber, are you really that dumb, or just pretending?”

Vivian just shrugged and headed inside the store.

Winifred figured Sienna was about to give her a lecture for messing with Amber, and a twinge of jealousy and sarcasm twisted inside her. ‘Is Amber always the one Sienna cares about most?‘ she thought bitterly.

‘That idiot is clueless from head to toe. The only thing she’s good at is acting all pitiful and sweet, just to win everyone’s sympathy,‘ Winifred scoffed inwardly.

“If you’re here to talk about what happened earlier, don’t expect me to apologize,” Winifred said coldly, her eyes deep and cold as she looked down. No one could notice the flicker of pain in her eyes.

Sienna gave a bitter smile, a wave of anguish rising in her heart. “Alright, I won’t leave you again. But there’s something I have to tell you. You were just a kid back then, so you probably never noticed.

“Lydia’s people implanted a chip in your head. That thing could affect you for the rest of your life. I’ll do the surgery. I’ve already scheduled it for tonight, but if that feels too rushed, I can push it back a couple of days,”

But Winifred couldn’t deny the fear that gripped her when she heard about the chip. She was terrified of dying.

Winifred still had so much left to do. She’d only managed to win one trophy so far. There was no way she was ready to call it quits.

But feeling the warmth of Sienna’s hand in hers, all Winifred’s fears faded away. As long as Sienna was there, nothing could scare her.

“Alright, Sienna, I trust you. Let’s do it tonight,” Winifred said with a small smile. Sienna returned her smile and gently ruffled Winifred’s hair. “I promise, I won’t let anything happen to you.”

“Okay,” Winifred replied.

Meanwhile, Vivian and Amber were just about to leave the store after buying some things when a man blocked their way, “Hey there, cuties, want to grab a bite with me?” he said, oozing sleaziness.

Amber’s round face scrunched up, her pretty eyes filled with pure disgust and impatience.

He didn’t even get the words out before he spotted the squad of bodyguards behind them, and instantly chickened out.

“Sir, we’re just passing through, just passing through,” the man said with a sheepish grin, then bolted without another word.

“Amby, what are you doing here? Where’s Sienna?” Hudson spotted Amber with a lollipop in her mouth and just grabbed it, tossing it straight into the trash. “Talk to me.”

“Hey,” Amber yelled, and almost before he could react, she socked him hard in the chest. “Don’t think just because you helped us out, you can walk all over me, Hudson. Throw away my candy again and you’re dead meat.”
