Chapter 297
Julian flashed a rare, genuine smile. “Yes.”
That smile stabbed right into Seren’s heart. It was nothing like his usual polite expression; there was real warmth in his eyes, a true emotion breaking through the mask of a gentle gentleman.

Seren couldn’t accept it and couldn’t understand it. Why did someone as amazing as Julian have to be so obsessed with a woman who was already married?
“Julian, but she’s already married,” Seren blurted out, her eyes locked on his face, desperate to see his reaction.
Julian just gave a helpless smile and lowered his gaze to check the time. “I know. But that doesn’t change how I feel about her. Liking someone is just liking them; what does her being married have to do with it?”
It was not like Julian ever said he’d do anything underhanded to steal her away. He was just quietly loving Sienna, and it had nothing to do with her family.
Julian’s answer left Seren speechless, but deep down, she just couldn’t accept losing this once–in–a–lifetime chance so easily.
But you can’t stay single forever,” Seren said, her voice tinged with desperation. “Instead of marrying that thrice–married Miss Clare, why not work with me?”
Julian shot back, “And why should I work with you?”
Seren was left speechless, her mouth opening and closing, but no words would come. Julian didn’t wait for her to recover; he simply turned and walked away.
Seren gripped her sleeves tightly and said loudly, “Because I like you, Julian. I want to help you.”
Julian didn’t even turn his head. He just kept walking and ignored her completely. He figured he’d made his rejection clear enough.
‘If I keep getting tangled up with her, it would just encourage her wishful thinking?‘ he thought.
Amber arrived at Hudson’s company. “I’m here to see Hudson,” she told the receptionist.
The receptionist recognized her and let her in without a word. Amber knocked on Hudson’s office door, knocking for quite a while, but there was still no response.
‘Didn’t Alex say he was inside? Could he be napping?‘ she thought.
“Hudson, it’s me. Are you in there?” she called out.
Just then, Alex walked over with a stack of documents. “Miss Hart, Mr. Grant is in there. The door’s unlocked, you can just go in. He’s probably asleep.”
Amber nodded and opened the door, stepping inside.
What she saw made her freeze. Hudson was standing there, eyes closed, wearing nothing but a pair of boxers, reaching out blindly in her direction.
