Chapter 166: A Calculated Disruption
“Tranquil Vision? What on earth is that?” Landon asked, frowning in confusion. He had never encountered that name before.
“It’s a relatively new local brand,” his assistant replied, glancing at his phone. “They’ve only been operating in Capaville for about a year now. Their annual revenue barely hits ten million.”
Landon’s patience snapped. “Cut to the chase,” he demanded, his gaze growing icy. A small, unknown company suddenly showing up to stir trouble? They must be desperate for attention.
“Their manager, Lonny Gaytan, is accusing us of copying their latest collection with our Four Seasons line. He arrived with a lawyer and a swarm of reporters. They’re making a scene right at the event, demanding answers.”
Landon clenched his phone tighter, teeth grinding. “Perfect timing,” he muttered under his breath. “Just a minor inconvenience. I’ll handle it myself.” Without hesitation, he ended the call and strode toward the event hall.
Moments earlier, the launch had been alive with energy. The audience was still buzzing from the dazzling unveiling of the twelve designs, the excitement palpable and growing—until an unwelcome group crashed the scene, shattering the atmosphere completely.
The man leading the intrusion was slightly overweight, his ill-fitting suit doing little to hide his eagerness.
“Cosmos Group sure knows how to make an impression,” the man sneered, voice thick with sarcasm. “Even a simple building opening feels like a grand spectacle. Our humble Tranquil Vision could never compete. Not even close.”
Every camera in the room—press and livestreamers alike—immediately swiveled toward the new arrivals.
“Hello everyone, I’m Lonny Gaytan, general manager of Tranquil Vision,” he announced, turning to face the cameras with a practiced expression. He feigned shock before slipping into a look of helplessness. “I was busy working when my team rushed over, telling me we had a huge problem. Apparently, our newest collection has been stolen by Cosmos Group and turned into their Four Seasons series. So, I ask you all—who do we turn to for justice here?”
His words sent ripples through the crowd.
Could it be true? Was the Four Seasons collection really the same as Tranquil Vision’s new release? What was going on?
Media crews and livestreamers who had been focusing on Cosmos Group’s showcase instantly redirected their lenses toward Lonny Gaytan.
Facing the cameras, Lonny wore a perfectly rehearsed look of despair.
“Mr. Gaytan, what exactly are you accusing?” a reporter shouted from the crowd.
“Are you suggesting that LOVE’s Four Seasons collection is identical to your Tranquil Vision’s designs?” another voice demanded.
