“Eugene, think about this–what if Chloe never liked you from the start?” Landon rubbed his chin, putting on a mysterious act. “Her background is super hush–hush. If Mr. Snow hadn’t said out loud that she founded LOVELESS, you’d never find that out. Bet there’s more stuff we don’t know about her! She’s a total powerhouse! Maybe she ain’t into guys who’re too dominant–maybe she prefers someone like Arthur- good–looking but softer,”

Eugene’s expression darkened as he listened.

“Looks like your path to winning her over is going to be full of thorns, my friend. I can’t help you with this one.” Landon shrugged, looking innocent.

Eugene checked the time, then looked up at Landon. “Several overseas projects are in need of someone to lead them. You seem to have plenty of free time lately. Why don’t you go there and gain some experience?”

“Come on, don’t do this to me. I’m doing perfectly fine managing Cosmos Group here. Those positions need someone with more hands–on field experience.” Landon laughed awkwardly.

“So you’re admitting your experience is insufficient and you’re not qualified to lead a division?” Eugene raised an eyebrow.

“Not at all. I love my current job. I’m even personally supervising the ‘Rebirth‘ script. I’ll go check on it right now. Leaving immediately.” Landon jumped up and hurried out.

The room returned to silence. Eugene relaxed on the sofa, his long legs crossed, that natural air of authority surrounding him.

But even a guy like him frowned when he tried to figure out how to win a woman over. A dark look crossed.

He hadn’t confessed directly, of course. But he’d made his intentions clear through his actions from the very beginning. Chloe wasn’t stupid–in fact, her abilities surpassed anyone he’d ever known.

Even Selina’s skills were no match for Chloe’s, yet Chloe’s attitude toward him had been lukewarm at best.

Eugene wasn’t someone who gave up easily. Still, he needed to change his approach.

The crew held a grand opening ceremony. As an investor, Edwin stood with Chloe for the group photo, and

filming officially began.

The first scene featured Oralia and the male lead, followed by adjustments and then Oralia’s scene with Carolyn.

Carolyn didn’t attend the ceremony. She arrived late, after Oralia finished with the male lead. No one said a thing–after how she acted yesterday, she wasn’t exactly winning anyone over.

“I made chicken soup for everyone. I spent all last night preparing it myself. Carolyn told the group calmly. “I hope you like it. I was out of line yesterday. Please forgive me.”

She seemed sincere. Without saying more, she placed the soup in the catering area and headed to the makeup room.

Just before filming, Oralia and Chloe arrived on set. Carolyn was already fully prepared.

“Oralia, Chloe, I made chicken soup for everyone. Please have some.” Carolyn approached them with a smile, trying to be friendly.

Oralia gave her a look, looking totally skeptical.

Carolyn didn’t push it. She nodded politely and left with Emily, saying she had more preparations to

handle.

“When someone acts out of character, there’s always a scheme behind it. That woman is definitely up to no good,” Oralia muttered, her lips curled in disgust.
