He Cheated I Rose: Making Him Regret Everything (Chloe and Arthur) novel Chapter 262

**A Promise Hidden in the Quiet Rain by Adrian Hale**

**Chapter 262: A Visit That Shook the Manor**

“And another thing—why is she so fixated on someone else’s child? What, does Arthur not have the right to father his own? Is it that the Myers family is destined to be without an heir? Ugh, I’ve reached my limit with this nonsense!” Oralia’s voice rose, her frustration palpable.

“That’s enough, Oralia. I’m managing several things right now. Don’t waste your breath on the gossip swirling around online.” Chloe’s tone was gentle, a soothing balm for her friend’s raw emotions. She could sense the simmering anger in Oralia’s words, a storm barely contained.

“But everyone is twisting the narrative to paint you in a bad light! They’re blaming you for your involvement with Arthur, saying that you’re—”

“It doesn’t matter what they say. Let them chatter. You and I both know the truth, and that’s what truly matters.” Chloe lowered her voice, a firm resolve settling in her chest. “I have matters to attend to now. I’m hanging up. Focus on your shoot. I’ve invested too much in this project to let it falter.”

With that, she ended the call, the silence that followed heavy with unspoken thoughts.

After leaving the hospital, Chloe found herself driving aimlessly, her original destination forgotten. Instead, she steered her car toward an unfamiliar place, compelled by an instinct she couldn’t quite place.

About an hour later, she arrived at an imposing private estate nestled in the suburbs, the grandeur of the property looming before her.

As she approached the main gate, her vehicle came to a halt, obstructed by several uniformed men. The one in charge stepped forward, his demeanor authoritative. “This is private property. No entry allowed. Turn around immediately.”

Chloe rolled down her window, her gaze sweeping over the expansive grounds, taking in the manicured lawns and stately trees that whispered of wealth and history.

Owning an estate of this magnitude in Capaville indicated this was no ordinary family.

With a cool composure, she regarded the men before her. “Tell that Bingham fellow that someone is here to see him.”

The guards exchanged bewildered glances. The Bingham family was known for their reclusiveness; the patriarch’s son and daughter were often away on business, neither married nor with children. Who was this woman, and why did she dare to address a member of their family so casually?

“Who do you think you are? You can’t just throw around the Bingham name like that,” one of the guards retorted sharply, stepping forward as if to intimidate her.

Chloe held his gaze, a slight smile playing on her lips, unfazed by his bravado. “I’ll repeat myself. Tell that Bingham fellow I need to see him. And you might also mention that he’s raised quite a few well-trained dogs over the years.”

The guard who had approached her suddenly met her eyes, and a strange sensation twisted in his gut. The energy radiating from her was almost palpable, a force that commanded respect.

Instinctively, he glanced back at his superior.

The head guard hesitated, weighing the situation before signaling the others to stand down. He turned and disappeared inside to relay the unusual request to Carl.
