He Cheated I Rose: Making Him Regret Everything (Chloe and Arthur) novel Chapter 360

**A Promise Hidden in the Quiet Rain by Adrian Hale**
**Chapter 360: An Empty Spotlight**

Arthur had been consumed by work lately, his days filled with endless meetings and late-night planning sessions for our upcoming wedding. “Jennifer,” she said, her voice laced with a mixture of excitement and exhaustion, “we’ve been so focused on the bridal dresses that I haven’t given this little party dress the attention it deserves.” She gave Arthur a playful nudge, her arm slipping more securely through his. “It’s just for one night, after all.”

Her eyes sparkled as she looked up at him, searching for his thoughts. “Darling,” she asked, her tone light yet earnest, “have you thought any more about the ceremony? Should we go for something traditional, or maybe lean towards a more modern theme?”

Arthur’s attention was elsewhere, glued to Scott, who stood on the stage, his eyes scanning the crowd with an intensity that suggested he was searching for someone—or perhaps avoiding someone. Jennifer’s question barely registered in his mind, and he replied without much thought, his words falling flat. “Whatever makes you happy.”

A triumphant smile danced across Jennifer’s face as she turned back to Carolyn, her voice brightening. “Ms. Lewis, Mrs. Lewis—Arthur and I have already filed the marriage paperwork. Once we finalize the wedding date, you’ll be among the first to know. We truly hope you’ll attend!”

Carolyn’s response was a thin smile, her eyes glinting with a barely concealed disdain.

The air between the two women crackled with tension, a silent battle of wills that spoke volumes without a single word. Their eyes locked, and in that moment, they understood each other perfectly—a shared distaste that simmered just beneath the surface.

Just as the atmosphere thickened, the music swelled from the stage, drawing Carolyn and Monique’s attention. They knew this was the moment they had been waiting for—Chloe’s entrance was imminent.

“Thank you all once again for joining us tonight to celebrate,” Scott’s amplified voice resonated through the room, commanding attention. The opulent ballroom fell into a respectful hush, every eye now trained on him.

The board members and senior executives of the Lewis Group gathered near the podium, their expressions a mix of anticipation and curiosity as they awaited Scott’s next words.

“Today is a profoundly personal day for me,” he began, his tone shifting to one of gravity. “I wish to formally introduce my child to you all.” He paused, a shadow of regret crossing his features. “First, I must apologize to my daughter. She was separated from our family when she was just a little girl, lost to us for many years. During that time, I was absent from her life. I have not earned the right to call myself her father.”

The audience listened in rapt silence, a wave of sympathetic murmurs rippling through the crowd at his heartfelt admission.

Only Jennifer, standing beside Arthur, watched the scene unfold with a smug smile, a glint of satisfaction in her eyes.

“As many of you know,” Scott continued, regaining his composure, “the Lewis Group has recently entered a landmark, mutually beneficial partnership with Cosmos Group, which has invested 50 billion dollars into our future.” He paused, allowing the weight of his words to sink in. “None of this would have been possible without the dedication and skill of my daughter, Chloe.”

“And so, on this momentous occasion, it is with the greatest pride that I formally introduce her to you all!” Scott’s voice rang out, infused with excitement and hope.
