Before long, Chloe descended the staircase with Robert in tow, each carrying a single suitcase.
They had packed only the essentials–items that truly belonged to them. Anything purchased by Arthur or the Myers family was left untouched. To Chloe, those things felt tainted, tainted by association. Just like
Arthur himself.
The housekeeper, Sarah Hyland, stared in disbelief at the luggage. “Mrs. Myers? Robert? What’s all this?”
Chloe met her gaze briefly. “Sarah, please gather everything that belongs to Robert and me.”
“Of course, Mrs. Myers. I’ll have it organized right away,” Sarah replied promptly.
“Not organized, Sarah,” Chloe corrected, her voice cold as she studied the housekeeper’s earnest face. “I want every last trace of us removed from this house. All of it is garbage now–throw it out.”
“Mrs. Myers, what’s happened?” Sarah asked, her expression growing anxious.
“Sarah, Arthur and I are divorced. This house has nothing to do with us anymore. Take care of yourself.” With those final words, Chloe picked up her bag, took Robert’s hand, and walked out.
She had already arranged for a car. As they stepped outside, the sound of an idling engine confirmed the driver had arrived.
“Mrs. Myers… does Mr. Myers know you’re leaving?” Sarah’s voice followed them, but Chloe didn’t look back. She simply walked out of Myers Manor for the last time.
Settling into the car, Chloe took a deep, cleansing breath.
It felt incredibly liberating to finally be rid of all that trash.
“Mommy, do you think that jerk is busy fawning over his precious darling right now?” Robert stared out the window and sighed dramatically. “And that Jenarth kid suddenly fainting? I bet it was all an act! Too bad some people have negative IQs–completely blind and clueless.”
Chloe couldn’t help but smile at her son’s sharp tongue. “Trash belongs with trash. Let’s hope they stay tangled up together forever!”
Arthur, this was your choice. May you always believe your precious darling is perfect.
What a joke!
When Arthur arrived at Starlight Hotel, a doctor was conducting a thorough examination of Jenarth. The boy, who had been unconscious, had just woken up and was speaking to the doctor in a weak, trembling
voice.
“Doctor… am I going to die?” Jenarth’s words were barely a whisper, shaky with tears yet bravely uttered.
“Jenarth, don’t say that! You’ll be fine. Nothing will happen to you. You’re my precious baby, you have to

stay with me. You’ll be okay, you have to be okay.” Jennifer knelt by the bedside, her face streaked with tears, her makeup ruined.
Arthur’s heart clenched at the sight. He rushed to the bed, his eyes fixed on Jenarth.
“Jenarth, how are you feeling?”
Jenarth struggled to look up. The moment he saw Arthur, his eyes lit up. “Daddy Arthur! You came to see
me!”
The doctor gently restrained him. “Please don’t move. The examination isn’t finished yet.”
“But Doctor, I feel fine now! Seeing Daddy Arthur made all the pain go away!” Jenarth exclaimed, his voice suddenly stronger, color returning to his cheeks.
The doctor was taken aback–the boy had been pale just moments ago. He sighed inwardly, thinking how heartbreaking it was to see a child trying so hard to be brave and sweet in front of his parents.
“Just lie still and let me finish the checkup. Your stomach has been bothering you–it’s likely something you ate or a minor stomach bug.” The doctor continued his work carefully.
“Mommy, Daddy Arthur came to see me! I’m so happy!” Jenarth looked at Jennifer, his expression slightly aggrieved. “I’m such a mess, making Daddy Arthur come so late. Mommy, you have to thank him for me.”
Jennifer squeezed his hand. “Don’t cry, Jenarth. I’m here.”
Arthur was moved by Jenarth’s maturity. “Don’t be afraid, Jenarth. I’m here. I’ll stay with you until you’re completely better.”
“Thank you, Daddy Arthur.” Jenarth’s reply was soft and heartbreakingly sweet.
The doctor soon completed the examination. It was nothing serious—just a minor stomach issue, probably from overeating or eating something disagreeable. He left some digestive and anti–inflammatory medication before departing.
Jenarth looked somewhat guilty, mumbling, “Daddy Arthur, I’m sorry. It’s my fault. I couldn’t resist all the delicious food, and I was so excited to see you that I ate too much. My stomach just couldn’t handle it.”
Arthur felt a pang of responsibility. Jennifer had told him that during her tours abroad, Jenarth always ate simple meals with the nanny and had always dreamed of a grand seafood feast.
So Arthur had taken them out for seafood. Jenarth had overeaten and gotten a stomachache.
All these years, Jennifer and Jenarth had been living overseas. It couldn’t have been easy for them.
Now that they were back in Capaville, he wouldn’t let them struggle anymore,
“I’ll arrange for someone to take care of both of you from now on. You’ll have everything you need, and this won’t happen again.” Arthur comforted Jenarth. “With me here, no one will ever bully you again.”
“Daddy Arthur, I love you so much!” Jenarth hugged him tightly. “I wish you were really my dad!”
Arthur froze for a moment.
