“Mr. Rosewood, we’ve just received an update from the base. They’ve managed to trace Mr. Caesar’s most recent location.”
Eugene had just returned to King Hotel’s Presidential Suite when Bruce delivered this news.
At the mention of Mr. Caesar, Eugene’s expression turned stormy. “You’ve pinpointed him?”
“Mr. Caesar logged off too quickly for an exact location, but we’re certain of one thing–he’s currently somewhere in Capaville,” Bruce reported, cautiously observing Eugene’s reaction.
So the elusive hacker was right here in the city.
Eugene’s eyes narrowed. The audacity of that punk, hiding right under his nose. It seemed settling their score was only a matter of time.
“Put the word out. Maintain close surveillance. If he shows himself again, track him down–whatever it takes.” Eugene’s voice dropped to an icy tone. The mere thought of Mr. Caesar operating freely on his turf made him want to personally ensure the hacker learned what true regret felt like.

Eve Restaurant was the city’s premier destination for foreign cuisine, where the average bill ran well into five figures and reservations had to be made weeks in advance.
Chloe had selected a prime table by the floor–to–ceiling windows that offered a stunning panoramic view. She and Robert had ordered an array of the restaurant’s signature dishes.
“Mommy, this food is amazing! Can we get some to take home later?” Robert asked between delighted bites.
“Of course, sweetheart. If you love it, I’ll order extra portions just for that,” Chloe smiled warmly. Since leaving Myers Manor, every aspect of life felt lighter. She could finally live according to her own wishes, without constantly catering to that hypocritical husband’s ego.
“Ms. Lewis, just to confirm, you’re seriously interested in purchasing a property at Riverville Prime Residence?”
Chloe looked up at the well–dressed man seated across from her. He appeared to be in his forties, impeccably dressed in a tailored suit–the very picture of professionalism. He represented the city’s most reputable real estate agency, where sloppiness simply wasn’t tolerated.
“Yes, that’s correct,” Chloe confirmed.
The man instinctively straightened his posture. “Ms. Lewis, I should emphasize that Riverville Prime Residence is essentially the most exclusive–and consequently, the most expensive–residential property in the city. Each unit sells for well over a billion dollars, with down payments starting in the hundreds of millions. Regarding financing…”
“Don’t concern yourself with the financial aspects. Just process the paperwork. When the time comes…” Chloe met his gaze directly, her tone decisive. “I’ll be paying in full.”

Chloe could see the disbelief in his eyes. He’d likely assumed she couldn’t afford it and had been preparing to discuss loan options. But she had admired Riverville Prime Residence since its initial launch. Back then, her position as Mrs. Myers had made purchasing such a property unthinkable.
Now she was free. She and Robert needed a real home, and Riverville Prime Residence was perfect.
“Relax. My representatives will handle the details with your company. Just follow my instructions,” Chloe said, her voice dropping slightly. “Remember your company’s motto.”
The man’s face broke into a genuine smile. “My apologies, Ms. Lewis, that was presumptuous of me. Rest assured, we’ll ensure you’re completely satisfied with our service. I’ll keep you updated personally.”
He rose gracefully, offered a polite nod to both Chloe and Robert, and took his leave. His steps were noticeably lighter as he exited, as if walking on air.
Who wouldn’t be thrilled after securing such a monumental deal?
Chloe’s smile lingered until her eyes fell upon three new arrivals entering the restaurant–three faces she particularly disliked.
Arthur walked in with Jennifer, holding Jenarth’s hand between them. The staff escorted them to their table with exceptional deference.
Chloe and Robert’s table was positioned in a rather conspicuous spot. As Arthur followed the host, his gaze swept past their table and immediately locked with hers.
The moment their eyes met, Chloe felt her mood sour.
Arthur’s expression darkened upon seeing her. He stopped walking entirely, remaining standing.
Noticing Arthur had halted, Jennifer turned and followed his line of sight until she too spotted Chloe. Her smile instantly vanished.
“Arthur, that’s Ms. Lewis over there,” Jennifer murmured softly.
“Wait here for a moment,” Arthur said, transferring Jenarth’s hand to Jennifer’s before striding purposefully toward Chloe’s table.
Seeing his approach, Chloe simply lowered her head, completely ignoring him.
“Chloe, you actually blocked my number?” Arthur demanded the moment he reached their table.
Chloe didn’t even glance his way. Instead, she picked up her fork and served Robert the most perfectly cooked piece of fish. “Here you go, sweetie.”
“Thanks, Mommy!” Robert chirped, equally dismissive of Arthur’s presence.
Witnessing his own son ignore him so thoroughly only fueled Arthur’s anger. This was all Chloe’s influence–she was corrupting Robert, turning him disrespectful and undisciplined.

“Chloe, you need to stop this nonsense. You’re taking things too far Arthur leaned forward, planting his hands firmly on their table, his voice sharp with accusation. “There is nothing going on between Jennifer and me. She’s unwell and needs someone to care for her. And because of that, you’re actually proceeding with a divorce? Blocking my number? Moving out?” He let out a derisive sneer, “You think you can just waltz in and out of my house as you please? You’ve completely overstepped”
