Chapter 116
Stella honestly didn’t want to see Silas, but she knew he’d just come looking for her again if the refused. She understood him all too well, so the fold assistant, “Have him wait for the in the security office,
The assistant replied. “Yes”
Stella added, “Also, look into what he’s been doing lately and send me the details.
The assistant replied, “Yes”
Stella didn’t head to the security office until she’d wrapped up a bunch of work. Before she got there, she’d already reviewed the report on what Silas had been up to lately.
She couldn’t wear high heels or thick–soled shoes, and her pait was still a bit awkward, but her presence was growing stronger.
When Silas saw Stella, he still looked a bit dazed. “Stolls, is that really you?” he said, then stood up. He stared at Stella in disbe
Stella was still thin, and though her face had a certain radiance, there was still something a bit strange about her overall.
Silas never would’ve imagined that the girl who was once so unwelcome in the family would now be holding all the power at Hayes Group
Stella ignored him and went straight to the couch in the security office, taking a seat without even glancing his way. Her attitude made it obvious she couldn’t care less about him
No one could blame Stella for acting like this. Back when Silas used to visit their home, he treated her like a servant
And that wasn’t even the worst of it–he’d once stolen a kiss from her and would smack her on the butt whenever he felt like it. Those memories were nothing short of a childhood nightmare for her.
Stella asked coldly, “What do you want from me?”
Silas hurriedly sat down across from her. “I’m here to ask you for some money,” he said.
“Not a chance,” Stella replied coldly, not even giving it a second thought
“Come on, we’re family, I’m only here because I’m in trouble. Stellay you can’t just stand by and do nothing.” Silas pleaded.
Stella shot back, “Why should I help you? I don’t even lift a finger for my own brother, so why would I bother with you?”
Silas froze looking stunned. He asked, “Wait, what?”
Stella said, “Before you came to me, you must’ve gone to Fiona first, Didn’t she tell you? Max is at death’s door. They begged me for money to save him, but I turned them down.
“So, Silas, what makes you think I’d ever lend you money?”
“Just look at you. You go away for a while and come back like this? I’m your uncle, Silas said, his voice rising.
Stella’s eyes narrowed dangerously. She sneered, Joh, you’re my uncle, huh? Did you forget what had happened the night before I was kidnappet
Silas let out a dry laugh and said, “Come on, that was ages ago–l barely even remember it. Stella, I once heard a famous Hollywood actress say t you want to be happy, you need a healthy body and a lousy memory.
“Maybe
aybe you shouldn’t remember things so clearly either.”
Stella said coldly, “Some things can be forgotten, but others can’t. By the way, before I even came here, I already called the police.”

“What did you just say?” Silas demanded. He immediately stand up, fullous. Het wanting the security guards to see, he leaned in close tole
Stella that was so long ago.
“There’s no way the cops would find any evidence from back then. And even if they arrest me, they just en op letting go
Stella replied, “Oh, I think the police can still arrest you–and maybe they’ll find out what else you’ve been up to.”
“You,” Silas trapped, his voice full of rage, He raised his hand as if to strike Stella, but a few security guards quickly rushed over and pinned him down
Silas cried out in pain, yelling, “Stella, tell them to let me go. Let me go, right now.”
Stella walked over to him and said, “Silas, before you came here, Hooked into you. I heard you’ve been gambling again, and now you owe several million. I know you wouldn’t be here unless you needed at least that much.
“But you really think I’d ever lend you money? Aber everything you’ve done to me? You came knocking on my door–so now, I’m just making sure you end up where you belong.”
Silas’s face went pale. He asked, “What do you mean by that? Where exactly are you sending me?”
“Whoever wants you, that’s where I send you,” Stella replied coldly.
“You,” stas started, but before he could get another word out, the security guards had already dragged him away.
Stella had someone get a car ready for her and personally followed along.
Silas kept causing trouble the whole ride, but Stella had already anticipated this. She had someone prepare a sedative and made sure he took it.
Stella didn’t remember Silas at first, but the moment he showed up, all the memories came flooding back.
She used to think he was a good uncle, always buying her and Anna treats. But
it as she got older, she started to notice the difference in how he treated her
and Anna
Silas treated Stella like a servant, not even like a normal niece. When she was little, he’d always harass her, and even after she grew up, he never stopped.
Because of what Silas and Troy did to her back then, Stella used to think everything was her fault
She had no idea what she’d done to deserve it. She always dressed modestly–other girls could wear short shorts and mini–skirts without a care, but she
never dared
She kept herself wrapped up in long pants and sleeves, even when it was blazing hot outside.
Not long after Stella finished the SAT, Silas made up some excuse to move into their house.
Fiona doted on Silas so much that she agreed right away, not even hesitating for a second.
Even though Stella locked her door every night, Silas would still sneak in whenever she let her guard down. She screamed for help with all her might, but the moment Fiona burst in, she slapped Stella hard across the face.
