Anna fell into the artificial lake. Monroe was just about to head into the villa’s party when he heard a familiar noise and turned around.

He saw Anna struggling in the water and immediately ran over. Stella was standing there, just watching Anna call for help. Monroe pushed Stella aside hard and said, “Do you want to see your whole family die?”

Without hesitation, he jumped into the lake. Monroe was strong. He almost knocked Stella down. Jordan showed up just in time and caught her, so she didn’t fall.

Stella looked at Jordan, who smiled and asked, “You okay?”

Stella shook her head. She turned back and saw Monroe had already pulled Anna out of the lake. Because of the commotion, a crowd was starting to gather.

Anna’s eyes were closed, and she looked unconscious. Monroe started CPR, hoping she’d wake up, but she didn’t for a long time.

He glared at Stella and said sharply, “If anything happens to her, I want you to suffer the same fate.”

Stella sneered and walked forward, with Jordan following, worried. Stella raised her foot and was about to step on Anna’s body. Monroe stared at her coldly. “What are you doing? Can’t you see she’s still unconscious? You want to…”

Stella ignored his warning and said to Anna, “If you don’t wake up, that’s fine. I can just stomp on your chest.”

Anna suddenly coughed up a mouthful of lake water, looking in pain. Monroe looked at her, worried. “Anna, how are you?”

Anna, a natural actress, saw Monroe and said, “I’m okay. I heard your voice, but it felt like something was blocking my lungs, keeping me from waking up. Luckily, after coughing up this water, I feel much better. Sorry for scaring you.”

Monroe held her tight. “It’s alright, as long as you’re awake. Anna, you scared me.” Anna’s eyes met Stella’s. Stella pulled her foot back.

Monroe helped Anna up. When he looked at Stella, he was about to shove her back into the lake, but Jordan grabbed him and kicked Monroe’s leg.

“What are you doing?” Anna looked nervously at Monroe. “Monroe, are you okay?”

Monroe’s leg hurt from the kick. He stared hard at Jordan. Seeing no change on Jordan’s face, Monroe snapped, “Jordan, you’re asking for

trouble.”

Jordan fired back, “You’re the one asking for trouble. If I hadn’t held my wife, she would’ve fallen.”

Monroe said, “She was the one who pushed Anna into the lake first.” Anna stayed in Monroe’s arms, looking pale and fragile.

Jordan asked, “Did you see it yourself?”

Monroe said, “No! But I believe Anna.” He said this with total confidence.

Jordan seemed baffled. “Monroe, I respect your work skills, but not your judgment on this. You say you believe her. I say I believe my wife, Just saying you believe someone doesn’t prove they didn’t do it.”

Monroe stood his ground. “Same here. Just because you believe your wife doesn’t mean she’s innocent,”

The four faced off, none backing down. In terms of presence, Jordan had the edge. But family background was Monroe’s advantage.

Stella glanced at the person in Monroe’s arms and smirked. “Honestly, all this arguing is pointless. Hey, kid over there”

She called out to a boy nearby who was playing on his phone. The little guy was dressed in a black suit and bow tie, looking pretty cute

He held his phone and came over obediently. “Miss, you called me?”

Stella liked the way he said that and smiled. “You saw everything that just went down, right? So what’s the real story?”

Monroe cut in, “Stella, come on. Letting a kid talk?”

Stella answered confidently, “Kids don’t lie, do they?”

The boy’s mom quickly appeared next to him. “You were on your phone the whole time, right? Did you see anything, or did you see nothing?

“I saw it,” said the boy.

The boy looked at his mom, who gave him a sharp look. “You didn’t see a thing. Mom’s been watching, and you didn’t even look up.”

Stella smiled. “Don’t worry, I’m not gonna pressure the kid. But his phone recorded the whole thing. Check it out.”

The mom immediately covered the phone. “Sorry, my son didn’t get it on video. Don’t make it hard on a kid.”

Stella got the message. It was clear the mom didn’t want to get involved. Stella wasn’t unreasonable, though. She smiled again. “That’s fine if you don’t want to share. I already called security. They’ll get us the surveillance footage. That should clear my name.”

Anna, who’d been calm until then, suddenly got shaky. She clung to Monroe. “I feel so cold all of a sudden. My head hurts. Monroe, I want to go home.”

Monroe looked worried. “Damn, I forgot you’re still wet. Are you catching a cold? I’m taking you back now.”

He picked Anna up in his arms. Jordan put his hand on Monroe’s. Monroe shot him an angry look. “Jordan, what do you want?”
