Shannon pointed at the person in the ID picture and firmly said, "This is Mike from the alternate world."
She'd been to the alternate world and could faintly discern the subtle differences in a person across worlds. Even if it were the same individuals, there were essential distinctions between counterparts in different worlds due to differences in experiences and circumstances.
The Mike in the picture looked identical with the same face and expression, but there was an emblem of a different university pinned to his chest.
In this world, Mike had only attended the mystic school and never been involved with other universities. That meant this version of him, who attended a regular university, had to be Mike from the alternate world.
Not just the person in the picture, but even the picture itself came from the alternate world. That confirmed Mike had successfully connected to the alternate world and managed to bring something back from it.
With that realization, Shannon had her theory.
She raised the picture in her hand and began channeling her spiritual energy to link it with the four interlinked arrays before her.
In the next moment, the picture suddenly flew into one of the arrays.
The array flickered faintly with light, and the picture hovering inside seemed to flash in and out.
Seeing this, Shannon moved forward to step into the array, but Benjamin grabbed her wrist. "Wait. Let's observe a little longer," he said.
Shannon replied, "If anything goes wrong, I'll just enter my domain." Even if she stepped into the wrong array, she would be fine.
Benjamin had no choice but to release her.
Without hesitation, Shannon stepped into the array containing the picture. The moment she entered, the array surged with light, and a domain-like shield snapped into place to seal her from the outside world.
Though Benjamin could still see her, he could no longer sense anything from her within the array.
She quickly responded, "I'm not in the alternate world, but I have two—no, three—friends who may have entered.
"You've seen Heston and Lexie before, and they're likely there now. Please find and keep them safe. I'll come to bring them back as soon as I can."
"Heston and Lexie? I remember their scent. Don't worry. I'll make sure they're safe." After Fennec spoke, her figure outside the array slowly faded from view.
Shannon didn't linger either and promptly withdrew from the array. In the blink of an eye, the surroundings returned to normal.
Yet, Shannon was still a little dazed from her brief conversation with Fennec.
Just what kind of extraordinary array had Mike created over the past two years?
