Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 2266

Velquin stared expressionlessly at the turtle floating before his eyes and said, "Thanks… But I'll pass."

He was a dignified phoenix, and there was no way he'd have his divine soul inhabit the body of a turtle, not unless he was dead.

No, he still wouldn't do it even if he were dead.

Shannon wasn't surprised by Velquin's reaction. After all, not many beings would volunteer to use a turtle as a body aside from the quirky system.

But still, it raised a valid point. Right now, they didn't have an ideal, inhabitable body for Velquin. After all, not all bodies could contain the divine soul of a phoenix.

As Shannon pondered the dilemma, Elliot suddenly leaned in and whispered, "What about Lexie's dorm?"

Mike and Lexie had both graduated early from the mystic school, but the school still preserved their dorms on campus.

Mike kept it out of cheaper rental fees, while Lexie chose to stay because she was raising Heston there. The campus environment also made it easier for both of them to continue their cultivation.

Because of that, Lexie's dorm was filled with strange little items and artifacts.

Under Elliot's reminder, Shannon remembered the assortment of odd creations Lexie had tinkered with over the years. Perhaps one of them might work.

Without delay, she brought Velquin's divine soul to Lexie's dorm.

Compared to two years ago, the room had undergone considerable renovation. Lexie had redecorated it entirely in her style.

The first thing Shannon noticed upon entering was the three miniature coffins placed neatly on the table. The craftsmanship was exquisite, and Velquin had never seen coffins so small.

What was worse, the doll was made from fabric and would go up in smoke with a single spark of phoenix flame.

Shannon agreed that it wasn't ideal. A cloth doll couldn't withstand a phoenix's divine soul, so she put the doll back in its tiny coffin and opened the other two.

The two remaining puppet dolls sat upright in unison.

Velquin's eyes lit up the moment he saw the third one. He pointed at it and said, "That doll. I want that doll."

Shannon wasn't surprised by his choice. The puppet was beautiful and dressed like a noble young lord from ancient times. More importantly, it was crafted from bone porcelain with its body made of refined clay and ashes. It was heat-resistant, sturdy, and definitely a much better fit for Velquin.

Without further ado, Shannon removed the talisman from the porcelain doll and examined it closely. Then, she reminded him, "Though Lexie used spiritual energy to forge this, it probably can't endure your phoenix's divine soul forever. The body might begin to crack after a while."
