Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 2300

When the spatial rift suddenly swallowed Mike, he knew he was in serious trouble.

He didn't know why he was being targeted, but whatever the reason, it clearly wasn't good.

He felt himself dragged into a pitch-black void, where the darkness pressed in from all sides—endless, suffocating, so thick he couldn't see his own hand in front of his face.

Just being there was enough to push one toward the edge of a breakdown, and truth be told, he was close to breaking down.

So instead, he simply shut his eyes, surrendered to the darkness, and began silently chanting the Calming Mantra to steady his mind.

"Trust all to be fine, and I shall be calm; for they have no power, to shake my psyche."

Though Mike had always been a bit of a specialist—strong in some areas, weaker in others—he had the foundational mantras down cold.

Even though in the alternate world, the Calming Mantra didn't do much, it gave him just enough mental comfort to hold himself together.

As his mind sank deeper, he noticed something invading his consciousness—and worse, trying to take control.

As Mike recounted this, Lexie's expression changed instantly. She grabbed Shannon's arm and pulled her two steps back, her eyes sharp with suspicion.

"You were controlled by the Divine Power?"

"I wasn't!" he explained.

Lexie was dubious. "Prove that."

Mike glared at Lexie, clearly offended, grumbling under his breath about how she never treated him like their own and how hurt he was, all while tugging at his clothes.

At that, she immediately yanked Fennec beside her, pulling both her and Shannon another two steps back. "What are you doing?"

He rolled his eyes. "Showing you proof, obviously."

Mike flinched slightly at the scolding, his eyes darting away in momentary guilt. However, a second later, he quickly straightened up again, face full of shameless confidence.

"I'd never do something reckless. My life's way too valuable, and I know how to take care of it."

Shannon, seeing the array was already carved into his body, knew lecturing him now was pointless. Instead, she focused on the sigils themselves.

Mike just smiled. "You wanted proof, right? These sigils are the proof."

He explained, "They're layered with multiple protective scripts. Unless I want something to happen, no one can lay a finger on me—especially not mess with my mind or make me do something against my will."

The decision to carve an array into his own body all went back to… Maya.

Back in Harrisfield Village, where they were trapped inside the barrier, Maya had used a command flag to control him, forcing him to unlock the barrier from within.

That was also how the Unmelting Bone, now Heston, had managed to escape.
