Back at Seastone School of Mystic Arts, Benjamin had been guarding the other end of the portal since Shannon entered the alternate world.
The moment Thalia was returned, Elliot and Albern set up an array to recover her divine soul. At the same time, Benjamin also channeled his golden light into her body to speed up her healing process.
However, she remained unconscious.
Inside the array stood not only Elliot but also Adam. His expression was solemn and grim. He clutched Thalia's hand, keeping vigil by her side.
Even when Hector offered to take over and keep watch, he was completely ignored. In the end, he had no choice but to let his father be.
It was also then that Louise and Reuben appeared; tagging along with them was Bianca. They had heard about Shannon's visit to the alternate world and Thalia's injuries.
With Shannon having awakened her tenth tail power, it was nearly impossible for an ordinary person to hurt her. But now, Thalia was injured, while Shannon…
After that brief connection between her and Benjamin, even Mike's array had failed to reach her. It was as if she had suddenly shut down all channels of communication.
That made everyone uneasy.
Suddenly, a divine anomaly appeared. A massive vortex suddenly formed above them, so vast and menacing that it felt as though it could swallow the entire world.
Though it was called a vortex, to ordinary people, only a sliver of it could be seen.
Benjamin, as the Dragon Vein, sensed the anomaly at once and cast his consciousness back into the core of the Dragon Vein itself.
Thanks to that, he could see clearly the enormous vortex that now loomed over nearly all of Crisea.
With that vortex, there was the unmistakable presence of the Divine Power. Unlike the Alternate Divine Power, its presence belonged to the one native to their world.
Louise similarly felt it. As a powerful demon, her senses were equally sharp.
She naturally detected the massive vortex overhead, which was still growing, little by little, as the Might of the Divine Power flowed through it.
That colossal vortex seemed poised to devour the entire world.
Mike's perception was nowhere as acute as theirs, but he noticed something strange the moment the vortex appeared. The Rift Portal he had been using to connect with the alternate world began to react.
What bothered them even more was the fact that Shannon would've never allowed the Alternate Divine Power to act willfully.
With the loss of contact and her lack of appearance, they couldn't help but worry that something had happened to her.
Just as unease rippled through the group, Bianca suddenly turned and walked out without a word.
No one noticed her quiet departure, except Reuben, who was the first to catch the scent of her blood lingering in the air shortly after.
Following the trail, they found her a few moments later. Blood stained the corner of her lips, her tails hung low and lifeless behind her, and the once-vibrant crimson fur had dulled into a lifeless hue.
What truly shocked everyone was her hair. Originally thick and jet-black, it was now turning visibly white right before their eyes.
Louise's pupils contracted. Feeling the rapid drain of Bianca's life force, she raised her hand without hesitation to stabilize the crumbling supernatural strength surging within her.
Mike had no idea what had happened to Bianca. All he knew was that her true form was a red fox.
