Her Birthday His Forbidden Desire novel Chapter 10

**Twilight Carves Destinies by George Orwell**

**Chapter 10**

“I tore it up.” Ethan’s gaze was heavy, laden with disbelief and a touch of despair, as if he had been wronged in the most profound way possible. “Stella, I could never bring myself to divorce you over these trivial matters.”

I took a deep breath, trying to maintain my composure amidst the storm of emotions swirling around us. “Ethan, we’ve shared five years of our lives together. You should know, without a doubt, that I love you. But you also need to understand that divorce is something I simply cannot tolerate.”

His fists clenched tightly, blood seeping from the wounds of his inner turmoil. It was as if he couldn’t fathom the idea that I would actually go through with a divorce. After all, on that fateful day when we exchanged vows, we had promised to be bound together for eternity. We had declared that not even death could tear us apart.

Yet, the reality was stark. His vows lay in tatters, and this marriage had become nothing more than a façade, one that needed to be dismantled. I remained resolute, my voice steady. “If you refuse to initiate the divorce, then I will take matters into my own hands. I have a lawyer who assures me that I will prevail.”

At that moment, Ryan entered the room, dinner in hand, oblivious to the tension that hung thick in the air.

Ethan turned sharply to face him, his incredulity palpable. “This is the lawyer you were talking about? Stella, what is your relationship with him? Are you leaving me for him?”

I chose silence over explanation, feeling that words would only fuel the fire.

In an unexpected surge of rage, Ethan raised his fist and aimed it at Ryan’s face. “Stella is my wife! I won’t allow you to lay a finger on her!”

I sprang from the bed, my heart racing, and quickly helped Ryan to his feet before turning to Ethan, my palm connecting sharply with his cheek. “Have you created enough chaos for one evening?”

Ethan recoiled, shock etched across his features as he covered his face, disbelief mingling with hurt. “You actually struck me for another man? Stella, it’s clear you don’t love me anymore, is it?”

I felt a bitter amusement rise within me, realizing that the very man who had betrayed our love was now attempting to twist the narrative. I could no longer bear his theatrics and pointed firmly toward the door. “You can think whatever you like. We are getting divorced, regardless of your feelings. Now, can you please leave?”

Instead of complying, he suddenly enveloped me in his arms, his body trembling as he sobbed. “Stella, I truly cannot live without you. I won’t ask again, alright? I trust you. If you want, we can return to the way things used to be.”
