HER DARK ALPHA novel Chapter 5

(REMI’S POINT OF VIEW)

Fists clenching hard, I forced myself to hold back, deciding whatever game she was trying to play was not gonna get into my head.

That was the internal battle I had to fight. It was real. The audacity on Sophia was enough to feed the whole pack.

It wasn't very easy, ignoring the pulsing throb in my chest as my wolf stirred up, ready to burst through and attack the bitch in front of me.

However, she was oblivious to what was happening and carried on with her spite. Typical Sophia. Just another dumb blonde with privileges. Sometimes I just wish she'd fall and die.

“Do you know who I really feel sorry for in all of this?” She turned to her friends with feigned pity in her sickly voice, “it's definitely not the teachers in this dump or the students who always thought highly of this little slut…”

Calm down, Rem.

“My deepest sympathy goes out to her parents. Yeah, I really feel for them. They try their best, but this pathetic thing just disappoints them at every turn.”

At this, everything slowed down around me, all my senses perking to focus on what she was about to say.

“I cannot imagine what they must be going through at this moment. They're already low ranking wolves. Yet, their daughter brought this amount of shame to them. Her immoral actions would certainly become the end of them -- doesn't matter how great they are in the human world.”

“Or perhaps,” her tone suddenly changed to one of disgust underlaid by contempt, “they are all birds of the same feather. Who knows if that family has only put up an act all along and they're really just as despicable as their daughter-”

“What did you say?” Before she could complete the rest of her atrocious statement, I had lunged at her, my claws extending and slashing at her face before she could realize what was about to hit her.

No one had seen it coming and my speed had been remarkably faster than usual. I guess it was the rage but the adrenaline rush through my veins pumped me up.

Deaf to the screams around us or the hands suddenly trying to pull me away, I slammed Sophia to the floor, blindly attacking her.

“You bitch! How dare you say that about my family? Do you want me to rip your fucking eye out, huh?” The guttural scream ripped out of my throat, eyes blazing red with terrifying fire. "Get their makes off your stinking mouth, you bitch!"

I could tolerate any bullshit she threw at me but bringing my parents into this and questioning their character was definitely crossing the limit. And she would pay for it.

Quickly recovering from her shock, Sophia was only lucky to dodge my sharp claws by moving her head to the side.

On any other day, she would've been much stronger than I was but at this moment, my strength was at an impressive level and I pinned her down with some ease. Hence, she couldn't escape easily.

But that did not stop her from hitting at me where she knew it'd hurt.

“I wasn't lying, was I? Yours is a family of sluts, right, Rem? A family of whores!”
