Finally, he shoved her into the car, driving out of the hotel.

After a long while, he said, “Alright now.”

Freya quickly took off the suit jacket over her face, gulping for fresh air.

Meanwhile, Ryan’s eyes were full of amusement. “See, I kept my word?”

With the suit jacket over her head, Freya’s cheeks were flushed, her eyes watery from the lack of air, and her lips bright red, looking even more charming and cute. “I almost suffocated!” she complained.

Ryan’s gaze lingered on her lips for a moment, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he quickly looked away.

Freya, oblivious to this, thought of something else. “No, Liam can’t find me. He’ll definitely go for Professor Cooper!”

“So what if he does?”

Mentioning this made Freya mad. “That photo, you took it, didn’t you?”

“What photo? I don’t know.”

Seeing him acting all innocent like that, Freya was sure he was involved.

She said, “Seriously, why are you so hung up on Liam? You must really be into him.”

“I think you’d better use this time arguing with me to call your Professor Cooper, or I’m afraid Liam will really

beat him to death.”

Freya glared at him, then quickly dialed Thomas.

Thomas answered, “Me? I’m not at the hotel anymore. I left after arranging the delegation’s accommodation, and now I’m on my way back.”

“Professor Cooper, are you far?” Freya urged.

“Yeah, the funding from the institute isn’t enough, so we’re staying in a small hotel on the outskirts,” Thomas replied.

Hearing this, Freya felt slightly relieved.

After all, Liam wouldn’t be able to chase across half the city to beat someone up.

Another call came in at that moment.

Ryan raised an eyebrow. “So heartless.”

Ryan chuckled. “I didn’t expect him to hold you in such high regard either.”
