Ryan chuckled, “Hurry up, my son is waiting for you.”

Lily said, “His son? Wait, he already has a son and still has a crush on Liam? There’s nothing wrong with being gay, but surrogacy is wrong!”
Freya put her phone away. “I need to go downstairs and get some answers about this.”
The restaurant was on the first floor.
As soon as Freya entered the restaurant, she saw Claire there.
When Freya arrived, Claire greeted her with a cheerful smile. “Ms. Harper, there you are. Mr. Reed has been waiting for you for a while.”
Freya asked, “Does he need something from me?”
“You’ll understand once you go in.” Claire led her into a small private room.
The table was filled with a dazzling array of dishes, but clearly none had been touched.
Ryan sat at the head of the table, tapping and swiping on his phone as if he were chatting with someone.
But a few of his “sons” at his feet recognized Freya first and rushed over, wagging their tails for a pet.
These big guys looked fierce, but after a few days with Freya, they understood she was probably a friend of their owner and treated her warmly.
Freya petted each big dog’s head and cleared her throat. “Well, Mr. Reed.”
Ryan glanced up at her and pointed with his chin to the seat beside him. “Sit.”
Freya said, “This place is pretty spacious. I’ll sit across from you.”
She pulled out a chair in the corner and was about to sit down when Ryan said, “My eldest son just peed over there.”
Freya was speechless.
Then she said, “I’ll take the seat next to this one.”
He said, “My younger son just licked that chair.”
Freya glanced toward the far end. “Well, over there…”
Ryan said, “Ms. Harper, do I have some kind of plague? Is that why you’re avoiding me?”
At least now, he could be considered half a benefactor to her.
And since she needed his help with the divorce, Freya didn’t argue with him anymore.
She offered an explanation. “Well, I just think the room is so big and there are so many chairs. It gets too warm sitting together, and our hands will be getting in each other’s way.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll keep the distance,” he said.
Resigned, Freya finally walked over to him.

Ryan had already pulled out the chair for her, looking at her with a mischievous smile. “Perfect timing–I have something to show you.”
Freya asked, “What is it?”
Ryan placed his phone in front of her. “Take a look.”
It was actually a police notice.
Freya picked up the phone and zoomed in on the image, reading every word carefully.
“After investigation, Liam Grant’s accusation of extortion for 30 million dollars against Freya Harper has been determined as an act of deliberate retaliation and is not fact–based.
“In addition, Freya Harper counter–sued Liam Grant for placing dangerous items; the police have imposed a fine of 600 dollars and seven days of administrative detention on Liam Grant in accordance with the law.”
Freya was a bit surprised by Ryan’s efficiency.
They had only been back three or four days, and the case was already closed.
Ryan said, “This is the most severe penalty I could get. The law inevitably lags behind and still needs ongoing improvements and corrections.”
Actually, Freya was already very satisfied.
“I also bought the trending topic for him,” he said.
He tapped his phone a few times and switched to the X interface.
The top trending topic is The Grant Group falsely accuses ordinary people“.
Freya clicked in and scrolled through; many people were discussing whether laws should be enacted when dogs were poisoned or abused.
After reading it, Freya sincerely said. “Mr. Reed, thank you on Sherri’s behalf.”
Ryan raised an eyebrow, hinting, “Don’t thank me for Sherri–thank yourself.”
