Freya looked a bit stunned. “No wonder even Liam doesn’t know who you like. So you’re into forbidden love! Are you two planning to have kids?
“I’ve heard that marrying close relatives can cause genetic diseases. But it seems marrying cousins was common in ancient
times.”
Ryan closed his eyes helplessly.
Freya leaned closer. “Mr. Reed, I’ve uncovered your biggest secret. I promise to keep quiet, but can Lily’s room charge be waived too?”
Ryan was speechless. “It’s one thing for you to stay free, but now you want to get your friend’s room fee waived as well?”
Freya chuckled, “Just thought I’d ask…”
“Lily is a big star anyway. She can afford it, can’t she?” Ryan said.
Freya said, “Saving money where you can–it’s worth it.”
Ryan said, “Are you truly in love with Lily? You were even willing to break ties with Liam just to help her hide her past…
Freya was completely stunned. “What did you just say?”
Ryan realized he had let something slip and quickly changed the subject. “Alright, if you don’t want it, that’s fine. I don’t care about a few bucks for rent anyway. By the way, let’s stop by the supermarket when we head back later and buy some groceries. We can cook for the boys tomorrow.”
The doubts lingered in Freya’s mind.
That night was a secret she kept hidden deep inside.
She trusted Thomas’s character, and besides, he had no connection with Ryan, so there was no reason for Thomas to tell him anything.
Lily was even less likely to have mentioned it.
Then… how did he know?‘ Freya wondered.
Freya increasingly felt that Ryan might not be as carefree as he appeared.
He knew much more than she thought.
Freya asked, “Mr. Reed, do you know something?”
Ryan replied indifferently, “What could I possibly know?”
He wasn’t willing to speak, so Freya didn’t press him further.
She said, “Let’s go. If we’re any later, the supermarket will close.”
Ryan grabbed her hand. “Let’s watch the fireworks a little longer. We still have time.”
Freya said, “You really enjoy watching fireworks, even as a grown man?”

Chapter 90
Ryan shrugged. “Can’t men like fireworks too?”
“Fine, fine, you’re the boss, it’s up to you.”
Freya simply sat down on the steps. These heels were indeed much more comfortable than the ones she had bought herself, but they were still heels after all.
After standing for a while, her legs felt sore.
But the night breeze by the Peldra River was truly chilly, so Freya held the dogs in her arms as a warm hand warmer.
Big dogs like this were great. She could lean on them when she was tired and stay warm when she was cold.
Their fur was thick and sturdy, giving a feeling of reliability.
She gently rested her head on the dog’s body and looked up at the dazzling fireworks.
A peaceful and beautiful moment was captured by the camera.
Ryan looked at the freshly taken photo on his phone and smiled with satisfaction.
He then set this photo as his screensaver.
The world was calm, the days were gentle. He had dreamed of this scene countless times before.
Fifteen years of bottled–up emotions had been like a wild beast trapped in a cage, and Liam’s affair was the key that finally unlocked it
Ryan had planned that if Natalie failed, and Liam remained devoted to Freya from start to finish, then he would give up.
He would go abroad, live a life far from home and authority, indulging himself for a lifetime.
But in the end, Liam took the bait.
The night at the hotel years ago had planted a seed of doubt in his heart.
Driven by pride and possessiveness, Ryan crossed the line and gave the beast its chance to break free.
“Freya,” Ryan called out to her.
Freya turned around. “Yes?”
“Do you want to know who I’ve loved for these fifteen years?”
