Sienna pulled out her book and started reading intently, but Alicia couldn’t stand the thought of just letting this go. If she did, all her previous efforts would be wasted.
Even if Alicia couldn’t deal with Tiffany right now, she wasn’t about to let her get away clean. Tiffany was still acting like the perfect little sister around campus, and Alicia was determined to tear off her act.
But to expose Tiffany for who she really was, Alicia needed solid evidence. Unfortunately, she didn’t have any. Nora had already taken Tiffany’s money and ditched school–there was no way Alicia could get anything from her now.
But Tiffany’s hired trolls were still hanging around school.
Alicia pulled out her phone again and checked the info Hank had sent her about Your Gossip Guru on the forum. The girl had already graduated, but she was still sticking around Premier Academy, waiting for her advisor’s final evaluation. With her internship ready, she could be gone any day now.
Alicia looked into some of that girl’s past actions at the school and saw that she was the type who always got
even.
‘If Tiffany ever did something to mess with her, she’d totally take revenge, Alicia thought.
After her morning classes, Alicia found Your Gossip Guru, lugging around her old, beat–up laptop.
Alicia gave a faint smile and called over, “Hey, Donna.”
The girl’s name was Donna Levy, and she was minoring in computer science. Hank had mentioned how skilled she was with computers–it had taken him quite some effort to dig up her profile. Donna was still working part–time as a network admin for Premier Academy.
When Donna heard her name and turned around to see Alicia, she felt a sudden twinge of anxiety.
Donna had been keeping a close eye on the whole forum mess. The school tried wiping out all the posts, but somehow they kept popping back up, then getting deleted and restored over and over.
That was way too weird, so she did some digging and discovered that a real computer pro must’ve been messing with things behind the scenes.
‘Could Alicia have been the mastermind all along? Maybe she’s secretly a hacker too.
‘If that’s true, then she probably already figured out who was stirring things up in those threads.
‘So… is she here to call me out or get revenge?‘ Donna wondered, her pulse racing a little.
Donna waited, pretending not to recognize Alicia. “Excuse me, can I help you with something?” she asked, keeping her tone formal.
Alicia flashed a soft smile. “Donna, I heard you work part–time as a network admin here. I was wondering if you could give me a hand with something.”

Donna’s expression grew a little odd. She looked Alicia up and down for a moment, then finally asked, “So, what exactly do you need, Alicia?”
Alicia handed her laptop over with a grin. “Looks like my name’s gotten around if you even know it, Donna.”
Donna’s hand hesitated for a moment before taking the laptop, then she flashed a smile. “I’m the network admin here–after that whole forum drama, it’d be hard not to know who you are.”
Alicia didn’t press the issue and switched gears. “I tried posting something on the forum yesterday, but it
it just wouldn’t go through. Could you take a look for me?”
Donna took the laptop, clicked around for a bit, then handed it back. “Nothing wrong with the post. Your laptop’s just way too old.”
Alicia frowned and said, “Really? My laptop wasn’t freezing or anything this morning. I could write up the whole post just fine, but it just wouldn’t send. Would you mind posting it for me?”
Donna thought for a moment, then nodded. “Alright, just hand me the post you wrote.”
Alicia opened up a Word document and said, “Here it is. Could you post this for me?”
Donna glanced at the document, and to her surprise, it was a petition demanding that the school launch a full investigation into the people who’d been manipulating conversations in those forum threads. The petition even came with a list of names.
Donna eyed the list, and her own name was right there. Everyone on that list was one of the trolls she’d been managing, all of them making cash by stirring up hype and drama for hire.
Just like Donna, these kids came from poor families. Their parents could barely cover tuition, so they had to hustle for their own living expenses.
At Premier Academy, everyone loved to show off–and even the teachers sometimes played favorites depending on a student’s family background. The poor kids just went to class, and if they tried to ask questions, some teachers brushed them off, while the rich ones got all the extra attention.
So Donna brought these struggling students together and tried to set them up with part–time jobs. But those gigs were exhausting and ate up all their time, and everyone at Premier Academy wanted to stand out academically.
In the end, she came up with a better plan: they could earn quick cash by running online hype gigs for other people and stirring up the conversations on campus forums.
Their lives were finally getting better day by day. But if anyone ever caught wind of what they were really up to, they’d be facing major consequences.
‘Is Alicia really just asking for my help posting this, or is she trying to bait me? Did she mean for me to see that petition? Is this a coincidence, or does she already suspect something?‘ Donna’s thoughts spun nervously.
‘Could she actually know what I’ve been doing?‘ Donna fretted, anxiety creeping in.
Donna watched Alicia for a bit, trying to figure her out, but she saw nothing suspicious. Alicia just focused on

her laptop, furrowing her brow as she said, “Look, every single time I hit send, it says ‘timeout. Donna? Hey, Donna?”
Donna snapped back, saying, “Listen, Alicia, I’ve seen everything that went down on the forum. But honestly, the person behind it already got taken care of. No need to stir things up again. If you keep chasing this, the higher–ups at the school might think you’re just being petty. Sometimes, it’s better to just let things slide and not make a big fuss about it.”
Alicia looked up at Donna with a gentle smile. “But Donna, these trolls are just following orders, just like Nora. If we get them talking, we’ll finally see who’s really calling the shots behind all this.”
Donna asked, “Why not just go ask Nora?”
Alicia shrugged. “Can’t do that—she’s already been kicked out and probably took the cash. But these trolls are in a different situation, you know? What they did isn’t as serious, so they won’t get tossed out. If they just say who told them to do it, they could maybe make things right. That’s why I figure they’re our best shot at finding out what’s really happening.”
Donna pressed her lips together and asked, “Do you already know who told Nora to post those things?”
Alicia shot a quick look over at the nearby tree, where Tiffany was surrounded by a group of classmates- though she kept sneaking glances their way.
Alicia smiled and said, “Some people are guessing it was my sister, Tiffany. What do you think, Donna?”
Donna hesitated, “Your sister… I really can’t say for sure.”
Alicia glanced at her laptop and sighed, “Still won’t go through.”
She stood up, raising her voice a little. “Forget it, I’m not even gonna bother posting it. I’ll just go talk to President Lee about this myself. Thanks for telling me all this, Donna.”
With that, she grabbed her laptop and walked off.
As Alicia rounded the corner, she looked back at Tiffany–sure enough, Tiffany was sending Donna a frosty
death stare.
Alicia let out a soft chuckle.
Obviously, Alicia was never really going to go talk to Derek. Like Donna said, if she kept dragging this drama on, everyone at school would just peg her as a petty troublemaker who never lets things drop and loves to stir up drama. Not really the vibe she wanted following her around campus.
Honestly, that post was never meant to go out in the first place. Alicia had purposely gotten Hank to mess with the forum behind the scenes so it’d always glitch and time out whenever she tried to send it.
