His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 50

“Mr. Royce left this afternoon to meet with a client. He’s probably still with them now.”

Lumina nodded. “Send me the location. I’ll go find him.”

Winona hesitated, taking a few steps forward to face Lumina. “Ms. Jardin, I really think you shouldn’t confront him directly. When Mr. Royce gives an order, no one can talk him out of it. I know how he is.”

Her tone was resigned, but there was an unmistakable air of superiority, as if she and Cedric shared some special bond.

Lumina smiled coolly, undeterred. “You don’t have to concern yourself. Just send me the address.”

Winona stared at her for a moment, her confidence waning. “Alright.”

Once she had the address, Lumina brought Tonia back to her own office to rest. “Take a break. There’s a transition checklist in my inbox, go over it, and mark anything you’re unsure about. Ask me when I get back.”

Tears shimmered in Tonia’s eyes as she gripped Lumina’s hands. “Lumina, thank you for helping me. Without you, I don’t know what I would have done…”

“Don’t be afraid.” Lumina gently stroked the back of her hand. “As long as I’m here, no one in this company will dare mess with you.”

Tonia wiped her tears, nodding emphatically.

As Lumina grabbed her bag and headed downstairs, she ran into Xenon at the entrance, who had just come back for some files.

Adjusting his glasses, Xenon called out from behind, “Ms. Jardin, are you going to see Mr. Royce?”

She gave a noncommittal reply, but Xenon, unusually persistent, turned to face her. “I really think you shouldn’t go.”

Lumina raised an eyebrow. “If I don’t go, Tonia’s left here to fend for herself. I just want to ask him: is he dissatisfied with Tonia, or is he just upset with me?”

The address Winona sent her was for an exclusive, upscale club.

She’d been here with Cedric before to meet with clients. He never brought an assistant—just handed her his card and let her take care of their expenses. Lumina still remembered the heart attack she nearly had when she saw the bill and all those zeros lined up at the bottom.

This wasn’t the kind of place she’d ever visit on her own. She’d later learned, by accident, that Cedric owned shares in the club. Whenever out-of-town clients visited, this was where they’d come to unwind and entertain.

When Lumina walked in, the place was buzzing—people were singing, playing pool, and gathered around poker tables.

She scanned the room, and her gaze quickly found him, seated at a card table.

Cedric looked completely at ease, idly tapping his cards. While the other three men looked tense and on edge, he seemed perfectly relaxed, his hand propped against his chin, long legs stretched out under the table.

When his slender fingers drummed lightly on the tabletop, a woman in a slinky dress immediately read the cue. She picked up a glass of wine and offered it to him with a flirtatious smile. “Mr. Royce, your drink.”
