Tessa ran downstairs and instantly saw that familiar figure standing under the eaves. He stood there in solitude with his back against her.
Despite his being slightly mysophobic, his shoes were now covered in mud, his pants stained with mud and wet patches, and specks of brown sullied his otherwise pristine clothes.
She had never seen him look so disheveled.
Her nose tingled, and an indescribable emotion stirred from within her heart.
On impulse, she ran and hugged him from behind. She then murmured softly, "You're here."
Stephen tensed. Only God knew how long he had yearned for her to hug him.
There was an orange glow across the sky, like an accidental stroke made from a painter's brush.
In the early morning, the rising mist intertwined with the clouds, like lovers reuniting after a long separation. The entire atmosphere felt warm and sweet.
As dawn approached, shadows from the trees gradually emerged. Dew fell silently, as if landing on Stephen's and Tessa's hearts, sending ripples through them.
The moment was so beautiful that it felt like a dream.
Tessa continued to hug Stephen from behind as time seemed to have paused. Stephen didn't dare to move, afraid that any movement would wake him from his dream.
Neither of them spoke, and it felt like a century had passed before Stephen finally turned around.
The first thing Tessa saw was Stephen's Adam apple bobbing as he gulped nervously. Then, she looked up at his dark eyes.
His gaze was fixed on her, and his eyes were filled with surging emotion.
Tessa could not withstand his intense gaze and looked away. She then mumbled, "Didn't I tell you not to come? Why did you still come here?"
Stephen cupped her cheeks with both hands, gently tilting her head to face him. He looked dashing, and his voice was as warm and soft as a spring breeze. "I came here because I missed you."
Her eyes teared up as she looked at him without blinking.
"However, the closer I got to this area, the worse it became. There was water everywhere when I reached the outskirts of the city.
"When I was three miles away from this town, the roads were completely submerged. So, I had to get out of my car and walk the rest of the way here."
Tessa frowned. "You walked three miles in floodwaters?"
Stephen nodded, a flicker of pain and sympathy appearing in Tessa's eyes.
Three miles! He had walked through muddy roads to get to her. The paths were also extremely slippery; just a small slip could cause someone to fall.
The town was quite secluded, so the roads were rugged and worn down. There were mountains everywhere. If another storm came, there might have even been a landslide.
Tessa felt a pang of fear and did not dare to think any further.
Then, she seemed to have remembered something as she asked, "Did you not sleep at all last night?"

The readers' comments on the novel: His Unveiled Passion
I know this isn’t Stephen’s fault but I still hated how he was so careless around this bitch even after Tessa already told him it’s obvious that this bitch likes him and she looked at Tessa with hostility. If Tessa breaks up with him again, I’ll even support her. Ugh. Good luck on winning Tessa back again, Stephen. Tss. I so hate these updates....
Nooooo! Not again! We don't need a twist like this. Is it too hard for the writer to conclude with..."and they live happily ever after"?...
Finally getting Stephen and Tess back together then to tear them apart with foolishness. This is craziness...
Yuhohoooo!!! Finally!!!...
Aaand~ Tessa and Stephen are finally back together! Yaaaaay!...
Why make an uninteresting, irrelevant twist when readers are waiting for Tess and Stephen to be together?...
Gosh just let Tessa and Stephen get back together already! Ugh...
Oh my god, when is this book finishing... they're not even back together yet and more nonsense side plots.....
Whoa! Hahahahahaha! Go, Sophia! Burn, stupid Rowena! Lol...
Sooo~ Chapters 310-318 were just a repeat of Jacqueline’s punishment, official expulsion from the Jacobson family, and arrest. With few changes since Tessa and Stephen are not together this time. So Tessa didn’t witness how Jacqueline was tortured at Stephen’s base, though at least Tessa was still called over and witnessed how Stephen officially expelled Jacqueline from the Jacobson family and how Stephen’s subordinate made Jacqueline grovel in front of Tessa. Lol. I hope Jacqueline’s really out of the story now....
