Chapter 216

Lucien Virell POV

The scout burst into the chamber mid ritual, panting like a dog and trembling like he’d seen the gods themselves.

‘My Lord…portal. Front gate. They’re coming. Elowen Skye and the hybrids. Armed. Ready. She brought an army.”

For one heartbeat, the world stilled. And then I snapped. My glass of bloodwine shattered against the wall as I hurled it, crimson splashing like a warning. “Fucking what?!”

Vaela was already moving beside me, cloak billowing like shadows wrapped in silk, her lips curled into a feral snarl. “How dare she bring her filth here. She must have discovered the foxes.”

“She’ll regret this,” I spat, my voice laced with venom as I stormed toward the blackstone doors. “CALL THE LOCK!”

Within seconds, the room flared with activity. Damael and Kareth emerged from the shadows like wraiths. Ezekiel was already buckling on his armor, silver plates hissing with cursed runes. Valira drifted in, licking blood from her fingers like this was foreplay.

Vaela waved her hand and every cultist in earshot dropped to one knee. “You heard him,” she barked. “We fight now. Gather the mages, the humans, the bloodspawn. Every fucking piece we’ve got on the board, move!”

A chorus of snarls and chants filled the hall as boots thudded against stone, cloaks swirled, weapons were drawn, and spells began to crackle in the air. I reached the balcony overlooking the main atrium and snarled to the chaos below, “Leave nothing behind. I want her head and her heart in my hands.”

And just like that, we surged forward. Every vampire, cultist, blood bound mage, and loyal parasite funneled toward the front gates, teeth bared, eyes glowing, war songs rumbling from our chests. In the rush, the back corridors were forgotten.

The cages of crying fox children. The cells of bruised elders.

The bindings that held the strong, just barely sedated.

They were left unguarded. But we didn’t notice. Because in our arrogance, in our fury…

We believed nothing could touch us. Let her come. I would bathe in her screams.

Elowen POV

The portal ripped open with a scream of wind and light, and I didn’t wait for orders. I charged through like a woman possessed, Lyssira snarling in my skull, “We strike now. No mercy.”

Chapter 216

The Crucible towered in front of us like a twisted cathedral of pain, and I could already feel the blood magic clinging to the air like a disease. The gates loomed, but Daxon was at my side, fangs bared. Bram was already shifting. Behind me, my mates and our army were a

wall of vengeance.

Alpha Draven barked commands. Garton flanked me. Taya and Rylen were locked in. The air was electric.

And then, there she fucking was. Vaela stood atop a crumbled balcony, her red hair twisted into horns, her dress soaked in someone else’s

blood and her lips curled in a smirk.

“You brought a parade,” she cooed. “What is this, Elowen? The new United Nations of Freaks?”

My lip curled. “Better than the tampon cult you’re leading.”

Her grin cracked. “You always were mouthy.”

“Still am, bitch. Now I’m going to rip your spine out through your cunt.”

She sneered and spat at me. I jumped. Landed on the stone steps of the ruined balcony and stormed her. We collided hard, elbow to throat, magic sparking from our skin. Her claws came out, her magic flaring with blood soaked runes, but I grabbed her arm and flung her

into a wall.

“Not so smug now, huh?” I snapped, punching her hard enough to crack stone. She screamed, her blood magic surging. A jagged whip of

crimson lashed toward me and hit. Pain lanced across my ribs.

Lyssira roared in my mind. “Enough.” My heart thundered. My bones ached. Magic burned behind my eyes, And then it happened. I

screamed, and the world shook. Scales erupted. Wings burst free. My body expanded as green and purple scales covered me, my roar

ripping through the air as my dragon form took shape.

Vaela screamed and ran like a coward.

“RUN BITCH,” I roared, flame spilling from my mouth as I took flight, fury made flesh.

Vaelrix POV

The second I saw her shift, our goddess, our mate, in her true form, I felt it in my bones. I let the shift hit me. Fire poured through me as

my own wings exploded from my back. My body grew. Hardened. Horns curled. Flame licked from my mouth.

I took to the sky beside her. “I’m with you, always.”

Below, chaos reigned, but up here? It was ours. She dove and I followed, our roars shaking the battlefield as we tore through the vampire

ranks. I snapped my jaws around a bloodsucker and flung his body into a pack of cultists.
