Chasing His Wolfless Luna Back (Rayna Quinn) novel Chapter 246

Thea Pov

“Can Sophia and I come visit you the day after tomorrow?” Iris asked on the other end of the phone.

I was surprised when she called a few minutes ago, but also pleased During her last visit, we’d talked a lot, and I finally understood why I’d become friends with her despite her connection to Roman.

She was fun to be around, and more than that, she was genuinely kit and friendly. I’d immediately enjoyed her company and was glad to have her in my life.

I paced around the kitchen, bouncing Phoenix in my arms. She was fusing her afternoon nap and had become cranky as hell. Every time I tried to put her down, she’d cry non–stop until I picked her up again.

“Thea?” Iris called through the phone.

I hesitated for a moment. The last time I’d seen Sophia was at the hospital, She hadn’t contacted me or come to see me since then. I didn’t understand why, especially since she was supposedly one of my closest friends.

Is she really okay with that?” I asked, feeling insecure. “It’s justwe haven’t seen each other since that day at the hospital.”

“That’s because she wanted to give you time to settle in and adjust to your new circumstances, she answered. “So, are you free on Wednesday?”

“Of course, that’s fine. It’s not like I have anything to do or anywhere to go,” I replied, trying to keep the bitterness and sarcasm out of my voice.

Each day, being stuck at home was getting harder. I wasn’t the type of person who could sit around doing nothing. Even when I was taking care of Leo, I still had my job to keep me busy.

“Then it’s settled… we’ll be there. We have a lot to catch up on.”

That caught my attention. Maybe they would tell me something that would give me clues about my life these past four years.

For a moment, I was tempted to ask if she knew anything Sebastian might be hiding from me. But I decided against it. If anyone was going to tell me the truth, it should be Sebastian. I’d rather hear it directly from him.

“Alright, see you then.”

I hung up and looked down at the little angel in my arms, wishing she’d just fall asleep already.

“Come on, baby, please go to sleep… my arms are tired and they’re going numb.”

Her tiny forehead wrinkled as she continued staring at me, her little mouth turned down at the corners. If I wasn’t mistaken, she seemed a bit offended by my words, like I’d somehow insulted her.

With a sigh, I continued walking, gently rocking her in my arms. I started singing, hoping it would lull her to sleep. Just as her eyes were about to close, the front door opened.

“Thea!” Sebastian called out, his voice causing Phoenix’s eyes to snap open. Her little face scrunched up, and then she let out a loud

wail.

“Fuck!” I cursed as her cries grew louder. I shifted her to my shoulder, gently patting her back, hoping to calm her down.

It wasn’t just about him waking Phoenix. It was about what Kane had told me and the knowledge deep down that he was hiding something from me.

My mind had been going crazy imagining the worst possible scenaries. I didn’t want to lose what we had now, but something inside told me that once I knew what he was hiding, I might risk just that.

I’m sorry, I didn’t know,” he said softly.

similar traits. Both were men of few words.

“I’m going to take her to her room, see if I can put her down.” Phoenix had stopped crying now, reduced to small hiccupping sobs.

As I left the room, I heard their conversation. At first, I hadn’t intended to eavesdrop, but then Damien’s words caught my attention.
