Letting out a resigned sigh, Derek said, "Cherry, all you need to know is that Jackson loves you, and that there's no need to care about other things. Just trust in Jackson, okay? He will handle everything accordingly."
Cherry suddenly avoided his eyes, and said, "I trust him, but I'm not sure if he trusts me."
After he heard her, Derek didn't know what to say anymore. No matter how much he knew about Jackson, there was no way that he could know about how the couple got along with one another in their time. Their relationship problems only concerned them, Jackson and Cherry.
At that time, Selina walked in through the gate, and when she saw Derek and Cherry, she cheerfully cried out, "Cherry, I'm home!"
When they saw her, Cherry and Derek smiled delighted.
Selina then spotted Joe, who was playing among a group of children, and with a huge bag of snacks in her hands, she loudly cried out to him, "Joe, do you want some goodies?"
When they head the word "goodies", all of the children in the yard turned to look at her.
Joe replied joyfully, "Yes!" and then ran toward Selina.
The other children then also ran towards her.
Holding the shopping bag in her hands, Selina took out one large bag of snacks and gave it to Joe. She then said to other children, "Would you like to have some too?"
"Yes, Aunt Selina, I'd love some!" cried one kid.
"Aunt Selina, me too!"
"I want some too, Aunt Selina!"
Looking at the cute children around her, Selina put on a serious look on her face, and said, "You can have all of these snacks, but promise me that you will get along well with Joe, okay? He's one of you from now on, and you should be kind to him, alright?"
"Of course, Aunt Selina! Joe's already one of us!" said a chubby boy.
"It's true, Aunt Selina, Little Fatty is our big brother, and I am the second brother, and this is our little sister, " cheerfully said Joe, introducing his little friends to Selina, one by one.
"Very well, " happily said Selina. She then took out a big bag of snacks and gave it to the plump boy, and said, "Here you are, little boy. Your big brother has the biggest one!" Then she turned to the other kids and said, "Everyone can have one. Next time I come here, I'll buy you even more treats!"
She then gave each child a bag of snacks.
"Thank you, Aunt Selina!"
"Thank you, very very, much!"
After each child got their portion, Selina said, "Come on, you can go and play now! Enjoy yourselves! Take care of Joe, okay? No one can bully him, do you understand?"
"Of course we do, Aunt Selina!"
"Aunt Selina, don't worry, no one will bully him!"
"We're all family! How can we bully him?"
However, it seemed that Lucia still hated to see the cozy family scene. She scornfully said, "Well, it looks like your son is some great treasure."
After she finished uttering her words, she glanced at Jackson, and saw that he had the same cold expression on his face as before. Lucia immediately lowered her head and ate her food without saying another word.
Cherry also kept silent and continued to eat.
But Joe knew that the nasty woman was referring to him. After he finished the meat in his bowl, he looked up at Andrew, and asked, "Great-Grandpa, is my Daddy the only son that my Grandpa and Grandma had?"
Andrew smiled at him and nodded. He then stroked his Great Grandson's hair, and said, "Yes, your Daddy was their only son."
A glimmer suddenly came into Joe's eyes, and as he looked at Lucia, he said, "And this woman is an outsider, right? She's married into another family. How come she can she sit at the same table with us?"
Everyone was stunned by Joe's words. Cherry looked at him, and she had never thought that he could ever say something like that.
For a while, Andrew also didn't know what to say.
"You ignorant boy, what are you talking about there? Stay out of it and play with your stupid toys!" angrily cursed Lucia.
Everyone in the room was then suddenly aghast. Andrew looked at Lucia shocked, and Jackson had already put on a hard and murderous grim face.
Then, all of a sudden, Joe pretended to be crying, and as he put down his cutlery, he ran away from his Great-Grandpa's side. The little boy rushed towards Cherry, jumped into her arms, and said, "Mommy, I want to go home! I want to go home!"
