The corpse of an Early Creature!
The moment Duke Gwendolyn spoke those words, the entire hall became eerily silent.
A hush that seemed to press against the walls themselves, as if Existence was holding its breath!
Everybody was silent. The six Honored Living Existences stood like statues carved from concentrated authority, their forms radiating power yet somehow diminished by the weight of this revelation.
Noah’s eyes buzzed with countless complex thoughts as he turned to look through the veiled window toward distant Concordia.
The golden pathways and crystalline towers that had seemed so magnificent moments before now appeared somehow smaller, less significant when measured against the implications of what he had just learned.
His mind moved with the swift precision of someone calculating variables that could determine the fate of existence itself.
The Living Existences had possessed the corpse of an Early Creature for eons. The questions that arose from this single fact alone were heavy.
How had this corpse come to be? How had one of his kind died? Where were the others who should have prevented such a catastrophe?
The very concept of a dead Early Creature seemed to violate fundamental laws of Existence, yet here was evidence that such an impossibility had occurred.
At this moment of profound contemplation, Duke Gwendolyn continued.
"Altheon brought us news of the Paradox that does not produce Inevitabilities. The one known as both Ozymandias...and Aetheron. We did not get the chance to eliminate this being, and now it is as if his capability has been shared with the most powerful Living Paradoxes."
Her voice carried the weight of someone delivering a report from a war that was already lost.
"In the lead of the assault was someone we know to be called Honored Diviticus in our records, with her authority parting the dense concentrations of Paradox and preventing the rise of Inevitabilities while she allowed other Paradoxes to move freely through what should have been an impenetrable barrier!"
...!
"The already powerful Living Paradoxes had gained something fundamental when they acquired the essence of the Paradox that produces no Inevitabilities, and now with the Corpse of an Early Creature, who knows what tremendous power they will wield. The Coalition of Living Existences needs THE Living Order as another weapon in their arsenal."
HUUM!
Another weapon in their arsenal.
The Living Existences still possessed depths of power that remained hidden, terrifying mysteries that could reshape the fundamental nature of existence.
Yet even they recognized the need for more weapons in the coming conflict.
Another silence descended upon the hall, heavier than the first. Noah continued to reflect on how events had unfolded, the chain of causation that led back to his own actions with uncomfortable clarity.
Because of him, a terrifying progression of events seemed to be accelerating beyond anyone’s ability to control.
He had inadvertently given Living Paradoxes wings. They were now more powerful than ever, all because Diviticus had obtained half a drop of his blood. Half a drop!
The magnitude of power contained in such an infinitesimal amount of his essence was both humbling and terrifying.
As he contemplated this reality, his mind flashed with possibilities. If half a drop could grant such capabilities to Living Existences...
