Chapter 4744: Skoll!
He could make choices he would normally never make just for the sake of information gathering and exploring other possibilities!
He could go back to Eon and see if a different future could unfold if he offered things he wouldn’t offer otherwise in Existence. Test what leverage actually worked. Discover her true price without paying it, and even gain without losing anything since it was a simulation!
But before that…
He made another decision.
There was still the matter of finding Lumivara and Ul’moreth in these vast Wastes. Still the matter of developing solutions against an Absolute that didn’t rely on Eon’s intervention. Because while reliance on others was a form of power, the power of others was not always reliant.
The simulation could explore multiple branches simultaneously.
Simulation Resuming.
Decision Point: Continue exploration of the Wastes while seeking alternative solutions.
Your Seals of Absolute Tongue continue to expand across the corrupted landscape.
The 27 Seals pulse outward, triggering resonance with The First Tongue wherever traces of it exist.
While searching, a secondary consideration emerges.
You recall information obtained earlier regarding the Muspeli Lifeform designated as Duke.
…!
Galileo’s words echo in your memory.
Duke: A unique anomaly born in the fires of The First Tongue.
Speed exceeding any Fundamental Depth entity.
Velocity approaching Absolute classification despite lacking the Depth to match.
Galileo mentioned that Duke’s full potential could be unleashed by you specifically.
The connection to The First Tongue that birthed this creature resonates with your claim over that same linguistic foundation.
Decision Point: Investigate Duke’s latent potential while continuing search operations.
Executing branch…
…!
In Muspelheim, your body turns attention toward Duke.
The golden retriever sits nearby with tongue lolling out, seemingly oblivious to the significance of events unfolding around him.
You place your hand upon his head.
You attempt to utilize The First Tongue to initiate whatever transformation might be possible.
Initial findings: No obvious oddities detected.
You study the makeup of this unique lifeform more carefully.
Biology of Duke – Analysis:
Physical form appears to be standard canine configuration adapted to Muspelheim’s primordial environment.
Fur composed of crystallized flame particles that shift through neon spectrums.
Musculature optimized for explosive acceleration rather than sustained output, and Logos and Philologies of The First Tongue
Nervous system operates at frequencies that exceed normal temporal limitations.
Core finding: Duke’s speed is not a product of raw power. It is a product of fundamental resonance with something deeper.
The First Tongue left unique anomalous traces in this creature’s very existence when it was born.
Those traces remain dormant. Waiting. Unactivated.
You proceed carefully.
You wish to continue your search while experimenting with the method to unlock whatever latent potential Duke possesses.
Solution: Bring Duke to the Wastes. Combine objectives.
Executing…
…!
The simulation shifted as Noah made his decision.
And the scene that unfolded was… something.
A man jumping onto the back of a golden retriever and using him as a mount.
Not exactly the image of cosmic dignity that THE Genesis Monarch typically projected. But fuck it. Practicality trumped aesthetics!
Noah settled atop Duke’s broad back, his legs finding natural positions along the creature’s flanks. The golden fur beneath him radiated warmth that pulsed with neon light, and Duke’s muscles tensed with eager anticipation.
The Wastes of THE Fallout stretched endlessly in all directions around them.
Gray desolation as far as perception could reach. Ashen clouds swirling overhead. Corrupted reality shifting and reforming with each passing moment. Pockets of frozen time. Zones where distance meant nothing. Regions where existence itself seemed uncertain of its own configuration.
And in the middle of it all, a man seated atop a very good boy!
As much as that didn’t sound right, it was a glorious scene!
Noah patted Duke’s head calmly, his hand running through fur that felt like captured starfire.
“Alright. Let’s see what you can do.”
…!
Duke’s expression shifted into something that could only be described as pure, unbridled joy.
His eyes shone with excitement that transcended species barriers. His tail wagged with enthusiasm that generated small reality distortions. His entire body language screamed one thing:
He understood the assignment.
FWOOOOM!
In the next instant, Duke’s body became covered in neon flames!
The fire wasn’t destructive. It was kinetic. Pure velocity made manifest, wrapping around the golden retriever’s form like a second skin of crystallized speed. The flames extended outward to encompass Noah as well, coating him in protective luminescence that hummed with barely contained acceleration.
And then they moved.
WHOOOOSH!
The two of them shot out across the Wastes of THE Fallout like glimmers of neon light streaking through gray desolation!
Noah’s eyes shone brightly in the simulation as he witnessed space itself disappearing around him at rates that defied comprehension!
The Wastes blurred into indistinct smears of gray and ash. Landmarks that should have taken minutes to reach vanished behind them in heartbeats. Entire regions of corrupted reality were crossed in moments that felt like fractions of moments.
Fast.
So impossibly fast!
Duke moved with velocity that made Noah’s previous methods of travel look like crawling through mud. The golden retriever’s paws didn’t even seem to touch the ground. He simply existed in one location, then another, then another, the transitions so rapid that the concept of “movement” became almost meaningless.
This wasn’t running.
This was something else entirely.
Simulation continues…
You begin to cover and map out vast distances of the Wastes with Duke as your mount.
Speed assessment: Unprecedented for non-Absolute classification.
Areas covered in minutes that would have required hours through conventional travel.
Your impression of Duke’s capabilities continues to grow.
This creature represents genuine tactical value.
You select Duke as another potential solution to the current problem.
If Lumivara and Ul’moreth can be located, Duke’s speed could enable rapid extraction.
If THE Weaver must be evaded rather than confronted, Duke’s velocity might provide the necessary advantage.
But questions remain.
Galileo mentioned that Duke’s full potential could be unleashed by you.
Current performance, while impressive, may not represent that full potential.
Decision Point: Attempt to unlock Duke’s latent capabilities through direct application of your authority.
Your eyes shine with brilliance as you make your choice.
