Lu Yang was so frightened that he screamed miserably.
"Don’t kill me, don’t kill me, I really didn’t do it, I just happened to pass by here and then picked up that Jade Decree!"
"Still trying to argue? Today, I’m going to finish you off!" Qiao Le didn’t bother listening to his explanation, rolled up his sleeves, and prepared to strike.
"Alright, he really didn’t do this. He doesn’t have the ability or qualification to do such a thing!" Xue An said calmly.
Only then did Qiao Le reluctantly stop, but he still questioned suspiciously, "Then how did a rift suddenly appear here?"
"Heh!" Xue An sneered, "Some folks found their previous path blocked, so they wanted to break in through here!"
As he spoke, Xue An turned to glance at Lu Yang, who was shaking like a leaf.
"Unfortunately, these guys went to great lengths, even sending the Jade Decree in to find a suitable candidate to open the passage for them, only to pick a show-off who doesn’t know how to restrain himself, a useless fool!"
"In that case, let’s just kill him!" Qiao Le said murderously.
Upon hearing this, Lu Yang’s eyes rolled up, and he fainted again out of fear.
Xue An shook his head, "Forget it, this guy was just controlled by his greed. Killing him won’t solve anything; it’s better to let him make amends for his crimes!"
As he spoke, Xue An waved his hand, and a light penetrated Lu Yang’s forehead.
Lu Yang’s body trembled, and when he opened his eyes again, the previous fear and panic were completely gone, replaced by extreme calm.
He slowly stood up and bowed to Xue An.
"Master!"
Xue An nodded, "Go now!"
"Yes!"
Afterward, Lu Yang turned and left the Abyss.
Qiao Le looked incredulously at his back and couldn’t help but ask, "Second Brother, what did you do to him? Why is he so obedient now?"
"Nothing much, I just removed the fear and greed from his soul." Xue An said casually.
Qiao Le shivered at his words and didn’t dare to speak further.
If he made his second brother unhappy, and some part of his soul got cut off, wouldn’t that be the end of him?
Xue An seemed to see through his thoughts but didn’t explain, just smiled slightly and then raised his head to look into the void ahead.
"Second Brother, what about this rift? Should we just leave it be?" Zhao Xuehui asked worriedly.
"Of course not!"
As he spoke, Xue An formed a sword seal with his hands, his expression suddenly serious, and then pointed forward with a stern shout.
"Combine!"
With a command, darkness surged like a tide.
Immediately, the rift began to writhe and gradually closed up.
As the rift closed, faint unwilling roars could be heard from the void.
Finally.
After a full quarter of an hour, the void in front of them returned to its original state, with no trace of the previous rift.
Only then did Zhao Xuehui and the others breathe a sigh of relief.
"Luckily we discovered it in time, we managed to seal the rift!"
But Xue An’s expression did not relax at all, still serious as he said.
"This is only a temporary measure. Since they’ve found this place, they won’t give up. In a few years or as quickly as six months, such rifts will definitely appear again, possibly even more fiercely than this time!"
"Then what should we do?" Zhao Xuehui and the other two were startled.
