Invisible to My First Love (Harper and Maddox) novel Chapter 12

Chapter 12

Grayson

Tiffany rested her head on my shoulder, looking down at her phone. We had barely taken off and she had already taken so many pictures of us.

Her hair was perfectly styled, her short skirt showed off her thighs and her lips looked so glossy like they were begging for mine. She looked stunning.

She looked up and leaned in for a kiss with her legs crossed and I ran my hand up her thigh just to feel how smooth her skin was.

I kissed her back like I meant it and in full view of the camera she had sneakily set on the table.

But my mind wasn’t there. It was still at Harper’s place, stuck on the look of surprise on her face when she opened the door and saw me standing there. Even when she initially looked guarded, I saw right through it all. She still wanted me.

I could feel it in the way she tried to keep her distance but clung to me when I held her close, the way she intertwined her fingers with mine despite the ring on my finger. Her body told me what her mouth couldn’t and fuck, it fed something in me.

She still felt something for me and maybe that was why I held her a little longer than I should have. And maybe that’s why I said the things I did. I knew she would hold on to them. I liked knowing I could still get to her.

“Babe, what are you thinking about?” Tiffany asked, her voice sweet and snapping me back to reality.

I turned to her with a soft smile and tucked her hair behind her ear. “I was just thinking about how lucky I am to have you.”

Her eyes lit up like I had given her a diamond. I wrapped my arm tighter around her and kissed her forehead, like I had been in the moment with her all along.

She ran her perfectly manicured fingers in my hair, smashing her lips on mine again, but pulled away to say something. I expected it to be about that moment, like I could lean back and let her take the lead, but it was far from it.

“So….about Maddox and Harper.”

She twisted her face in disgust as soon as she said, but I had to hide my genuine reaction, just slightly pulling away from her.

“What about them?” I asked, reaching for the champagne glass on the table. My grip on it tightened so hard that I was actually seconds away from cracking the damn thing.

The images of the two of them in bed together flashed in my mind. Her legs wrapped around his waist, unable to catch her breath while she moaned his name in pleasure and he was deep inside of her.

“I spoke to my brother to stay away from her,” Tiffany said.

“Let me guess, he listened to you?” I asked with sarcasm.

“You know how he is, but I won’t let her have her way. If she thinks she’s going to get what she wants out of this, I’m not going to let that happen.”

There was a mischievous smirk on her lips that grabbed my attention and I put down the glass so I could get

closer to her face.

“It sounds like you’re up to something.”

She proudly nodded. “Kate just needs to step up her game. I’ve always wanted my best friend to end up with my brother. He’s still messing around with other girls but I can take care of that.”

Even though Tiffany wanted Maddox to end up with Kate, it made no difference to me who would be the lucky girl in the end as long as it wasn’t Harper.

“That sounds like a perfect plan,” I said.

“Of course it is.” She ran her hand down my chest. “When my brother comes back two weeks from now, I’ll get straight to work. It’s a good thing he’ll be gone for a while so that bitch doesn’t get her claws in him.”

“Hey, don’t talk about Harper like that.” My voice sounded a little sharp.

“Ugh!” She pushed me away. “You just had to ruin the moment by defending that bitch.”

“One more word like that out of your mouth and I’ll turn this jet around.”

She parted her lips, but nothing came out. Instead, she crossed her arms and faced the other side.

I even thought that was the perfect moment to tell her that Harper wasn’t going anywhere and it would be like the old days, but maybe it was too soon.

“I can’t believe you still want to talk about her that way after what she did to me. You saw her slap me.”

“We already talked about this. You’re the one who crossed the line.”

She faced me again with a sigh of irritation. “It almost sounds like you’re choosing her over me.”

I scoffed, pulling her closer by the waist. “Don’t be ridiculous. Remember what I told you right before the wedding began and you threatened to cancel it if Harper didn’t leave? I’ll say it again. Her presence in my life is nothing more than the friend she’s always been and she knows it. That’s why I show her over and over again that I only have eyes for you.”

I then kissed the back of her hand, looking right into her eyes.

“Don’t tell me you’re that intimidated by her?” I raised an eyebrow.

She rolled her eyes. “Of course not. I just don’t like how everyone was talking about her like she’s now the center of the universe.”

“Then let them talk. It makes no difference to me because you’re the center of my universe.”

She giggled, burying her face in my chest after gently hitting it. “I love you.”

“I love you too. Don’t ever forget that no matter how many times you see me talking to Harper. She’ll never be anything close to what you are to me, Mrs Ford.”

She kissed me again with her arms wrapped around my neck and sat in my lap.

While that was mostly true, I also wanted to get back in town before Maddox.

Chapter 12 1

She placed everything where it should have been but when handing Tiffany her juice, a droplet landed on the lounge chair she was on and she gasped dramatically.

“What the fuck is your problem?” she snapped at the waitress
