Chapter 48
Harper
I was making myself some hot coffee when Maddox was telling me about the travel arrangements. It only made me anticipate Friday even more.
“You’re seriously going to have that private jet ready for me?” I asked with raised eyebrows.
“Yup, you’ll be picked up from the airport and brought to me.”
I frowned. “Wait, I only get to see you when I arrive at your place?”
“Exactly. I told you that you would have to obey if you want to know what really happened but hey, I know you already want to do as I say anyway.”
His voice was a little suggestive, making me subtly bite my lip like someone was going to see me, yet I was just in my kitchen.
“Grayson was listening,” he said.
He must’ve mentioned it to see if I would be bothered.
“Oh, he’s already there?” I asked casually.
“You knew he was coming?”
“Well, yeah, but he told me not to say anything. It was a family intervention. So, did Tiffany make up?”
you and
Just mentioning her name reminded me of everything I had learned from my cousins.
He sighed. “We’re working on it. Looks like you’re really good at keeping secrets.”
“Is this the part where you feel like telling me a few of your own?” I smirked.
“Don’t tempt me.” He chuckled. “I have to go, but first, there’s one other thing you need to do when you’ll be coming here.”
“What’s that?” I asked, stirring in the mug with a spoon.
“You’re going to wear my clothes.”
I paused, then burst into laughter. “You can’t be serious.”
“My clothes and nothing else.”
I furrowed my eyebrows when I realized he was being serious. “Wait, you really mean that?”
“No.” I could hear him smirk. “Just carry them with you, but I want to see you in the sexiest lingerie you can find. The bill is on me. Just so we’re clear, you don’t have to do all this.”
“Screw that.” I leaned forward like I could see him, lightly stirring my coffee again.
“Good, but that lingerie is for my eyes only.”
I scoffed. “What? You think I’ll just leave the house in lingerie? I’ll cover up with a trench coat.”
“I also want to see you in some sexy heels. Is that clear?”
His voice was so low and commanding that I swallowed hard with excitement.
“Yes.”
“Good girl.”
And with that, he hung up on me.
I closed my eyes and it took me a few seconds to even put the phone down. He was pretty clear about what he expected to see on Friday and I shook my head at how I wanted every part of it.
I took my mug with me to the living room, my phone in my hand and as soon as I sat down, I received a text from Grayson. I shook my head before even reading it because it took him so long to reply. It was nothing new, yet it still bothered me.
I was about to take a sip when I paused as soon as I opened our message thread.
“Please don’t tell me you’re serious about coming to London on Friday.”
I set the mug down just so I could quickly reply, my lips pressed together as he always tried to stop me from doing the one thing that helped me not focus too much on him.
“Out of 10, 10 is just how serious I am! Lol”
He read my reply, but didn’t text me back. I was used to the late replies, so I set my phone down and picked up my mug again.
I was a few sips in when I received a call from Ella and I got a little excited. I hadn’t been able to reach her and Zoey for hours.
“How is it that I couldn’t reach both of you at the same time?” I said as soon as I picked up.

“Hey, please call me as soon as you can.”
