"There is a reason these Old Saints, as you called them, have a terrible relationship with Grand Dao," Old Ye commented. The world must change, evolve, and progress, but the issue is that the Grand Dao often does not care how such changes affect those standing at the pinnacle of power.
"That’s such a dangerous approach," Wang Wei uttered. If these positions become crucial to these Saints, then it’s only a matter of time before they start killing the position holders. Even if they cannot directly use it, they can have their descendants or subordinates – whom they can secretly or directly control — use it, train these people to their levels, and take the position.
"Hopefully, Grand Dao solves this issue without causing damage to the position holders or allowing these Saints to cause chaos," Old Ye shrugged.
"Hopefully," Wang Wei nodded before frowning. "I just thought of something. Wasn’t the Taboo Battle Realm also created during the Paragon Age?" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Old Man Ye looked at him. "It seems you know about the Critical Hit Path."
"Yes, and without the taboo Battle Realm, wouldn’t these Old Saints be banned from accessing it?"
"You would think so," Old Ye responded as he caressed his bear. "But we’ve confirmed that they can utilize it. As to the reason why, we have no idea."
"So, I was right: the Critical Hit Path is a form of control," Wang Wei sneered. The only reason he could think of for Grand Dao allowing these Saints to use that thing, despite how she had treated them previously, was as a means of control.
"Your way of thinking is too negative."
"Am I wrong?"
"You are, well, at least, partially."
"What do you mean?"
"If you want me to keep talking, you need to pay more."
Wang Wei thought briefly before handing over information about the [Observer] and [Perfection]. Old Ye swiftly perused the information talisman. "Fascinating. We had been aware of the Observer, and we also learned some information about another entity of equal standing, but we didn’t know it was called [Perfection]. It finally clicks why there is such a taboo."
"Focus, old man, what were you going to say?"
"Do you know about the taboo called the Abomination?"
"More than you would think."
"We have theorized that the creature originated from whatever realm, world, dimension, or space-time that all transcendents head to. Grand Dao created the Critical Hit Path after the creature’s invasion, most likely fearing and preparing for others to invade."
"An invasion-preparation method? I could see that," Wang Wei commented. If all the people from the Chaos Universe could use the Critical Hit Path to boost their strength, but the invaders could not, they would have an overwhelming advantage.
"Alright, I’ve been out for too long. It’s time to leave."
"Hold on, I only have two more questions," Wang Wei hurriedly said.
"Keep it short."
"Do you know of the Highest Sovereign?"
Old Ye nodded. "While our study of the Infinite Trichiliocosm is subpar, we have heard of the Infinite Divine Court and its ruler."
"By any chance, you wouldn’t happen to know what his Dao is?"
"I don’t," Old Ye responded. Such information is probably the highest secret of the Infinite Divine Court. If their society even dared to think about finding out, they would probably receive a terrifying blow as soon as they leave the Primordial Timeline.
