Left Them Loved Myself (Stella Spencer) novel Chapter 179

Chapter 179

Stella watched from a distance as the woman roughly pulled the child around, her brow furrowing. Is that woman really the kid’s mother? If she’s really the heiress you mentioned, would she be treated like this?

I don’t know that woman,Erica said, shaking her head. But when the kid’s father was with her, he acted super lovingdidn’t look fake to me.

Stella couldn’t hold back any longer. She pulled Erica along and strode toward the woman and girl. Whatever’s going on, let’s go over and stop them, ask what’s happening. Something just feels off to me.

I feel the same way,” Erica replied.

As they talked, the two of them had already walked up to the woman and the girl, who were still struggling with each other.

Who are you?The woman, still pulling the little girl, shot them a wary look.

Erica didn’t hold back. Who even are you? Why is this Yvonne hanging out with you? And what’s with Kirk?

You know Mr. Lynn? The woman exclaimed, clearly caught off guard.

Mr. Lynn?Erica echoed, turning it over in her mind.

‘Why does it feel like this woman’s got some weird connection with Kirka grown man, a CEO, yet he’s always making a fuss about believing in light, acting like a total clown?she wondered.

Stella wasn’t bothered by the adult drama. She squatted down to look the little girl dead in the eyethis kid was clinging to that wand like it was treasure.

She said, Hey, little girl, what are you doing here with this madam? Where did your mom and dad go?

Yvonne turned her head, and just as Stella thought she might get an answer, the girl completely ignored her question and exclaimed, Miss, can you buy that magic wand for me?

The design is so cool. I’ve never seen any of the little fairies use one like this before; it must be a limited edition. I need it. If I don’t get it, my life is basically pointless.

Stella was totally floored.

Seriously? The magic wand is what gives your life meaning now? Kid, aren’t you, like, five? Already all deep and despairing over a trinket?she wondered.

But no matter how much she was internally roasting the kid, Stella still had to get to the bottom of things.

Stella tried again, keeping her patience in check, but the little girl was completely fixated on that magic wand cobbled together from wooden sticks, chanting limited edition over and over, not even sparing Stella a glance.

It was honestly impossible to get through to her.

Stella gave up on getting an answer from the kid and straightened up, turning to Erica, who was still grilling the woman. Erica, did you find out what’s going on?

Erica’s eyes were still full of suspicion. She says she’s a maid from the Lynn family, just taking Yvonne out for some fun.

Stella shot back, You actually believe that?

Erica retorted, You bought it?

They both blurted out in perfect sync, That pathetic lie? Only a fool would fall for that.

The maid was left speechless.

Panic flared in the maid’s eyes as she clamped down on Yvonne’s hand even harder. The girl finally quit whining about the limited edition, now squirming and struggling because it hurt.

Let go.

You’re hurting me,Yvonne protested, her voice soft and trembling, on the verge of tears.

The maid managed a fake smile, trying to calm her down. Miss, they’re the ones blocking us from leaving-

Before she could finish, Erica cut her off with a cold laugh. Oh, so now it’s our fault?

Stella’s frown deepened. If you could show us any proof, why would we even stop you?

The maid looked like she was about to break down, her voice hoarse with desperation. I already told you, I’m a maid from the Lynn family. Why won’t you believe me? Why can’t you just trust me?

If anything, that just made her sound even sketchier.

Alright, we believe you. But how about you let go of Yvonne, okay? Can’t you see you’re hurting her?Stella said, keeping her tone as calm as possible.

Stella shot Erica a look, signaling her to get in touch with that gentleman she’d mentioned. Meanwhile, Stella would keep this maid, who clearly seemed a little off, distracted.

Erica got the hint and pulled out her phone, ready to call Kirk.

Get out of my way.” Seeing Erica pull out her phone, the maid let out a piercing scream, shoved Stella and Erica aside, snatched up Yvonne, and made a break for the exit.

They could just make out the trembling voice of the little girl. Hidden variant—

Stella and Erica were completely blindsided, stumbling back in shock, speechless.

Honestly, what a handful this girl is,Stella and Erica both thought, feeling almost tempted to just give up the

chase.

Yet as soon as they regained their balance, their feet had other ideas; they tore off after the maid without

hesitation.

Just as Stella and Erica launched into their chase, the roar of an engine shattered the aira sleek sports car tore around the corner, trailed by a fleet of identical, jetblack SUVs with a cold, predatory glint to their paint jobs.

The luxury convoy slithered to a halt right in the heart of the antique street. All at once, car doors popped open, and a swarm of bodyguards in black suits spilled out, faces stonecold.

Vendors went pale as sheets, abandoning their stalls without a second thought and scattering in pure panic.

Out of the lead sports car stepped a mantall, lean, wearing a spotless white suit. His features were strikingly handsome, but at that moment they were set in a grim mask, eyes sharp and oppressive.

As his gaze swept the street, every person unlucky enough to meet his eyes instantly ducked, wanting nothing more than to melt into the crowd.

Search.” The man’s voice rang out, clear and almost deceptively cheerful, but to the bodyguards it landed like a physical blow. Flatten this street if you have to. I want her found. No excuses.

Yes, sir,” barked the bodyguards in perfect sync, fanning out in all directions, clearing the street as they began their aggressive search.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, the maid, clutching the child in her arms, couldn’t get

far.

She hadn’t even managed 300 feet before Erica caught up and pinned her down, with Stella close behind- swiftly pulling the little girl out of harm’s way.

Speak,Erica snapped, pressing the maid down with a nononsense glint in her eyes. Who are you, really? Why are you taking this kid, and where were you planning to go? You’d better start talking,

I’m her mother, the woman burst out, her words hitting like a bombshell.

The whole place went so quiet that one could barely hear anything but the wind.

Stella, clutching Yvonne, suddenly got really interested in everything except those angry eyes staring at her- sky, ground, walls, anywhere but that woman.

Hold up, Stella’s mind spun as she tried to process what she’d just heard. A maid? Seriously?

Stella’s brows furrowed. If you’re her mom, then why bother claiming to be a maid?

Erica let out a derisive laugh, arms crossed. Oh, please, I might not be chummy with Kirk, but trust mehis wife definitely isn’t you. Nice try, though. You expect us to buy such a lame lie?

I really am her mom,the maid burst out, clearly desperate.

How can you prove it?Stella asked.

Erica pressed, If you’re really her mom, then show us some proof. Got anything to back that up?

I do,the maid shot back, fumbling in her pocket while they watched skeptically. She pulled out a wrinkled DNA test report. See, it’s a paternity testshows a 99.99% match. That should be enough proof, right?

Stella and Erica glanced over the report. Sure enough, the results checked out, leaving them both staring at

each other in disbelief.

What the hell?Erica couldn’t even find the words.

Same here,Stella thought, completely gobsmacked.

At this point, the whole situation was going off the rails; none of it made any sense anymore.

Stella took a moment to collect herself, then blurted, So if you’re her mom, why were you acting like that toward her just now?
