Left Them Loved Myself (Stella Spencer) novel Chapter 62

Stella’s beautiful face no longer showed the old anxieties. Instead, it was filled with a confident smile,

Bathed in soft light, she walked gracefully and unhurried, her whole figure wrapped in a kind of flawless, dreamy radiance.

Simon stood there, momentarily stunned, and couldn’t help but be reminded of that day.

Caught off guard, his grip loosened, and Michael tumbled to the floor with a loud thud. For a moment, it almost seemed like the shock had sobered him up.

“Ow!” Michael, a bit sobered up now, lay sprawled on the floor, shooting Simon a look. “Were you trying to break my neck?”

“Relax, you’re still alive, aren’t you?” Simon shot back. He helped Michael up and was about to look around for Stella, but he realized she had disappeared.

‘Did she not see me?’ Simon wondered, a sense of disappointment creeping in.

Honestly, with all the noise, there was no way Stella hadn’t noticed. But when she saw it was just Simon and Michael causing a scene, she chose to ignore them and kept walking, uninterested in engaging.

A little later, as Stella came out of the restroom and dried her hands, a voice suddenly called out behind her. “You seriously didn’t see me?”

Stella jumped in surprise and turned around to find Simon standing by the unisex sink. The dim light obscured his face, but his tone, almost hurt, left her confused.

Stella shot him a frown. “What are you even talking about?” For a second, she wondered if she’d misheard him.

Simon was never one to feel wronged-he made others feel that way. Stella knew this well.

“I’m asking, did you really not see me just now?” Simon pressed, his tone now less hurt and more frustrated.

She calmly looked at him and said, “Whether I saw you or not, what does it matter?”

Even Simon couldn’t figure out why he was so fixated on all of this. Now that he had his answer, he didn’t feel relief—in fact, he felt even more unsettled. It didn’t seem like the answer he had been hoping for.

But even he couldn’t quite figure out what he was thinking. He blurted out, “Whatever, now that you have Jeremy backing you, you can do whatever you want.”

These were the same lines Michael kept repeating to him. Simon never paid much mind, but somehow those words had wormed their way into his head and stuck there.

He probably didn’t even get how much those words hurt, like Stella’s whole rise was just Jeremy’s doing and she hadn’t lifted a finger herself.

Right now, Simon just wanted to let out all that restless, pent-up frustration-he didn’t care how.

And it only ended one way. Ice-cold water hit Simon’s face, soaking his hair and clothes, snapping him out of his daze.

Stunned, Simon looked up and met Stella’s icy gaze. She said coldly, “I don’t want to explain myself to someone like you, but I especially don’t want to be misunderstood by you.

“Every achievement I have right now-I earned it by myself. I fought for every bit of it, without relying on anyone.”

Lumiere Group was originally founded by Stella herself. As the largest shareholder, returning to the company was a simple matter for her. She didn’t need to compete with Cameron for anything.

Chapter 62

The two flawless jewelry pieces were designed by her in half a day. No one helped her-every detail, from the initial sketch to the final creation, was done by her hand, bit by bit.

In other words, everything she achieved was the result of her own hard work-she never relied on anyone else.

Simon went silent when he met her angry eyes. After a moment of awkward silence, he forced out a stiff, “Sorry.”

“Don’t bother,” Stella said coldly. “Just keep you and your so-called friends away from me from now on.”

“Is this about the expo?” Stella asked.

“Sort of,” Jeremy nodded. “I want to showcase your jewelry designs at that high-end expo.”

Such events were for luxury brands, showcasing signature masterpieces-not mass-produced, affordable jewelry.

Jeremy said, “I was thinking of using those two Kiss of Dawn sets you designed for the show. It’d be a great way to get your name out there.”

“But ever since you came up with the Tear of Thorns, the Kiss of Dawn sets just aren’t impressive enough anymore.”

It was a rare opportunity, and he wanted nothing more than for Stella to amaze the crowd, not just gain some recognition. This way, it would help her progress faster, and more steadily in the world of jewelry design.

After thinking it over, Stella’s eyes lit up with determination. “No problem-I’ll whip up a brand new piece for the expo, and I’ll get it done before the show.”

Jeremy refused. “No. The Tear of Thorns is already so much work-if you add prepping for the expo on top of that, it’ll be way too much for you.”

“I think I’ve got this,” Stella said, turning to look right at him.

Jeremy softened, seeing the fire in her eyes. “Are you sure?”
