With that confirmation, the royal paragons present there could no longer contain their astonishment.
Jason found that revelation most difficult to accept. He had presumed Severin's demise after the latter's failure to emerge from the Starry Sky Battlespace, but reality was anything but. It was much worse than he had initially imagined, as he had been told that Severin had secured the opportunity! He shook his head vigorously, and his eyes widened almost to the point of bulging out, "Impossible! There are so many prodigies vying for that within the Starry Sky Battlespace. How did Severin manage to get his hands on it?"
Roman glanced at Simeon and Karl before warning sternly, "This isn't the time for jokes. Please explain how that came to be."
Beside him, Cecily's sharp eyes widened in surprise and disbelief. Before she could voice her thoughts, her disciple Callie stood up and said, "We've all witnessed it firsthand. Severin was the one who had been granted the chance to become an immortal!"
Cecily finally acknowledged the veracity of the matter after Callie came forth and vouched for it. Like Jason, she was dumbfounded and unable to contain her incredulity.
"What?!" The news sent shockwaves through all the royal paragons. They believed that Severin had perished within the Starry Sky Battlespace, yet were told that his emergence was somewhat delayed due to receiving the True Immortal's essence.
Jason and Lewys, who both viewed Severin as a thorn in their side, found the reality too difficult to accept.
Cecily was sullen, and she could help herself from deeply regretting her decision not to take Severin under her wing.
The opportunity had monumental implications. Should Severin manage to emerge unscathed, then it was no exaggeration to say that he would almost certainly follow in the footsteps of that mysterious practitioner from centuries past and become an immortal. With such a disciple, perhaps her Marvair Sect could ascend become a new sacred land in the future.
In the meantime, the individuals most troubled by that revelation were Jason and Lewys. They had been of the belief that Severin had been killed, yet it transpired that his emergence was delayed due to receiving the True Immortal's essence. Above all, they found it incredibly difficult to swallow the fact that Severin—their number one enemy—was the one who had been granted that opportunity!
