At that moment, the Wicked Tribe's leader, Alasdair, was in seclusion deep within the White Bone Palace. Countless streams of rich blood energy lingered around him, absorbing the spirits of those who had perished in battle. His level nine supreme paragon aura was so strong that it seemed to tower above everything around him.
All of a sudden, a panicked voice reverberated outside the gate and roused Alasdair from his meditation. His expression soured after the interference.
He then transformed into a wisp of black smoke and materialized in front of White Bone Palace. Glancing coldly at the disciple who had disturbed him, he asked icily, "Why are you in such a panic? I expect a proper justification for interrupting my meditation or else I may well harness your spirit for my Thousand-Soul Flag!"
Riyyan was already terror-stricken by Mohsin's demise, and he struggled to string a coherent sentence together. "Sect Leader, sir, the situation has taken a turn for the worse. Elder Mohsin's soul lantern has just been extinguished!"
The initial anger that Alasdair had shifted dramatically to that of shock after hearing what Riyyan said. He rushed out and confronted the disciple. "What did you say!?"
Alasdair's eyes widened, and his demeanor bore the semblance of an infernal demon. Riyyan found it difficult to breathe in Alasdair's proximity, and he gulped before summoning all his courage to answer, "Elder Mohsin… has fallen!"
As he glanced at the trembling Riyyan, a realization soon dawned upon him.
"Was this Severin's doing?" Alasdair mused aloud. Mohsin had vowed to eliminate Severin after the latter's arrival in Southsky. As he put more thought into it, he realized that the postulation was entirely possible. He recalled Severin's history of defying reason when he defeated the group of four sacred heirs from the four sacred lands. That group had planned to obtain his immortal blood, believing they could succeed because their attainment level was much higher than his. Unfortunately for them, Severin had defied all odds and wiped the floor with them.
From then on, Alasdair had decided to keep a watchful eye on Severin. Having understood Severin's past even better, he came to realize an astonishing fact: Severin's ability to transcend across in terms of strength was as natural as breathing.
