Severin's wives were all sobbing. He had, after all, been away on a very long journey that lasted more than half a year. There was not a single news about him during that time, which never happened before.
News of occurrences outside the sacred land were usually grim, reporting either the death of the Eastplain's half-immortals or the tragic defeat of Greatflare and the Northsea's half-immortals. They were deeply worried for Diane.
With Severin finally coming back home and standing before her, Diane's mixed emotions of anguish and joy spilled out as tears. Severin caressed their cheeks and savored the scent of their silky long hair. He patted Diane on the shoulder and said softly, "I'm sorry I made you worry."
His initial purpose for journeying to Eastplain was to deal with Xavier's corpse puppet and lend aid to the Padillas and the Estradas. When he reached there, he later sensed that the opportunity to reach immortality had arrived. So began his journey to explore the world, traversing from Eastplain to the Eternal Icefield like a mortal. He covered a distance of nearly a hundred thousand miles, a feat that took over half a year to accomplish.
During that time frame, he sealed his mana and isolated his divine senses, which cut him off from the external world. Had that opportunity not been sufficient for him to reach immortality, he could probably still be found wandering the icefield. Diane's expression seemed to censure him for his actions, but his apology brought tears to her eyes as she threw himself into his embrace.
Severin embraced his wives and apologized profusely. "I'm sorry."
The women, unable to maintain their composure, began to weep.
After helping them wipe away their tears, Severin manipulated the space around him and instantly transported them back to Enchanted Peak.
After six months of separation, all four of them had ascended from level five royal paragons to level eight royal paragons, marking a rapid improvement in their abilities. On his return to Enchanted Peak, Severin's divine senses detected a fluctuation of spiritual energy emanating from his daughter's room, indicating her success in reaching royal paragon.
"Is Selene still in seclusion?"
Diane's starry eyes flashed with anger. "Selene made a breakthrough to the royal paragon last month. There was a tribulation, and it was your master who intervened to help dispel it."
"I…" Diane blushed, knowing exactly what he meant by that gaze.
Gilda reacted swiftly and broke free from Severin's embrace. She said shily, "Let me prepare something for you."
Severin smiled and gently pulled Gilda back into his arms before she could leave. He bit her earlobe softly and said cheekily, "You don't have to go through all that yourself. You're the best gift I could ever ask for."
His wives were left speechless as he swiftly led them into the room. A roaring of rules soon pervaded, and so the formations of heaven and earth manifested to seal the room from the outside world. Inside, the ladies exchanged silent glances with each other.
The room was filled with a hazy spiritual mist with the vitality of spring water, breathing life into hardened wood and soaking the half-open plum blossoms with dew.
