Chapter 195 When Will You Give Me a Baby Too?

Clarissa breathed a long sigh of relief. Since she was going to visit the baby, she should buy something for him. Thinking about it, Clarissa finally decided to buy him a gold charm pendant

Clarissa went to the mall on Saturday afternoon and spent six thousand dollars on a gold charm pendant for Lily‘s nephew. It was her first time meeting Lily‘s nephew, so she didn‘t want to be stingy

Clarissa counted the remaining money she had. There wasn‘t much left of her salary for the month. While she worried herself about her lack of money, she received a text. Someone had just transferred sixty thousand dollars to her account.

The sender was not Damien, so the money wasn‘t from him. Someone else had sent Clarissa money while she was in a dire state.

Clarissa was afraid it might be something fishy. It might be one of Madelynn‘s tricks. She didn‘t dare ask, but she was confused. Who was it?

She and Lily arranged to take a taxi to Southern Paradise, the neighborhood Landon‘s family lived in.

As she entered the neighborhood, Clarissa saw a family moving in. One of them muttered,“ I just paid sixty thousand dollars in rent. I heard this place was previously occupied by Madelynn, that huge celebrity.”

Clarissa frowned a little, and wondered about the connection between the sixty thousand dollars and Madelynn. She suddenly remembered that Damien had asked Madelynn to move out of Southern Paradise the other day.

Did Damien rent out the house and told the tenant to pay the rent to Clarissa?

Clarissa thought about it and decided to text Damien on WhatsApp.

Clarissa: (Did you ask for the transfer?]

Damien: (Transfer what? The baby, or the seed?]

Clarissa wondered what the hell he was talking about.

Clarissa: [The house in Southern Paradise. Did you tell the tenant to transfer the rent to me?

Damien: [Yes. It‘s your pocket money.]

Clarissa wondered if her concept of pocket money was different from Damien‘s. However, she was relieved to know that the sixty thousand dollars were not a trick.

Lily‘s nephew was very cute. He was so soft when she had him in her arms. He kept giggling and cooing, and the sounds he made amused Clarissa greatly. She almost had the

urge to have a baby herself. That, and the baby smelled so good.

Clarissa gave the gold charm pendant to Lily‘s sister. The latter refused her gift, with the claim that it was too expensive.

“Hey, just accept it without worries. She‘s Damien Lawrence‘s wife.” Lily urged her sister to accept it.

Clarissa smiled, but her heart was in agony. I‘m not the rich person you say I am!

Clarissa also took a picture with the baby, and then posted an Instagram of herself holding him.

(So cute.) Clarissa posted a short caption on her Instagram.

At five in the evening, Clarissa and Lily parted ways. Clarissa returned to her mom‘s house.

Theresa made some special chicken soup for Clarissa. Clarissa had mixed feelings about meeting Theresa again, and was filled with slight regret.

“Mom...” Clarissa said.

“Good girl.” Theresa stroked Clarissa‘s hair. “I hope you don‘t hold a grudge against me.”

“I won‘t, Mom. Why would I?” Tears welled up in Clarissa‘s eyes as soon as she said that.

She only hated her biological mother for abandoning her. Why?

Theresa was so kind, but in the end, she wasn‘t Clarissa‘s real mother.

“How are you with Damien lately?” Theresa asked Clarissa, who had sat down and was drinking the chicken soup.

“We‘re fine. I feel less stressed after giving him the money. Also, he‘s opening a new factory. He rented out his unit in Southern Paradise, too. It‘s where Madelynn used to live, and the rent is paid to me.”
