Love Times Four My Stepbrothers Are My Mates (Alayah) novel Chapter 137

**Chapter 137: Alone Time I**

**Aspen’s P.O.V.**

As I sat down for dinner, a myriad of revelations about my Mate unfolded before me, but what truly captivated me was the way he interacted with Hunter. The anticipation of meeting his four sons filled me with a mix of excitement and trepidation. I couldn’t help but wonder about their ages, and more importantly, about my Mate’s age. The thought made me slightly uneasy, but I quickly pushed it aside as I focused on the lively conversation.

Daniel was deep in discussion with Hunter about school, and I couldn’t help but chuckle at the bewildered expression on his face when she described it as boring.

“What the heck do you mean by that?” he asked incredulously, his brows furrowing in confusion. Hunter, with her characteristic bluntness, explained that even with the extra challenging homework, school was simply dull. I watched as Daniel burst into laughter, his deep voice echoing through the room, bringing warmth to my heart. Just as the laughter settled, there was a sudden knock at the door.

I opened the door to find his Beta and Gamma standing on the threshold. “Gamma, Beta,” I greeted, bowing my head as I had been taught to do in the presence of high-ranking Wolves and Lycans.

To my surprise, both of them growled softly, and I looked up, my eyes wide with astonishment. “Don’t ever do that again, Luna,” his Beta warned, and I felt my jaw drop in shock. Hunter erupted into laughter at his comment, and Daniel shot her a playful scolding glare for teasing me.

We made our way into the kitchen, and Hunter turned her gaze from his Beta to his Gamma, then said with a cheeky grin, “Sorry, Mom. But your Mate is an Alpha, which means you’re their Luna. They should be bowing to you, not the other way around.”

“You might want to borrow my book on ‘Rank and Etiquette’,” she added, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. “But I must warn you, only read it if you have a severe case of insomnia.” I couldn’t help but burst into laughter at her wit.

“What the hell?” his Gamma asked, genuinely perplexed, and Daniel explained that Hunter was taking advanced classes. His Beta introduced himself to Hunter, saying, “Call me Brent,” and she shook his hand with enthusiasm.

“I am Gabe, I believe we’ve met before,” his Gamma said with a serious expression. For a brief moment, Hunter pretended to ponder, only to blurt out, “You’re the one who met the underside of my boot.” This sent us all into fits of laughter.

Daniel then asked Hunter if she could pack an overnight bag, and before I could even process his request, she dashed from the room, shouting, “Sure thing, Dad!”

The three men stared after her, and I stifled a smile, knowing she was well aware of how thin the walls were. It was clear that her exuberance had left them momentarily speechless. I couldn’t help but think that in that moment, my daughter had effectively shattered their ability to think or respond coherently.

After I had cleared the table, I caught a whiff of the delicious scent wafting from the kitchen. “Make sure there’s enough left for me, Hunter,” I called out, but deep down, I had already calculated that she would want some too.

We gathered around the kitchen island, sipping our coffee, and Hunter inquired about the Pack-house. Brent described it as expansive, revealing that all the Pack members lived there, with a special floor designated for unmated members who wished to live independently.

Gabe chimed in, detailing the ground floor’s amenities: a living room, kitchen, dining room, meeting room, and the Alpha’s official office. As he spoke, I watched Hunter’s eyes widen with wonder, and I feared they might pop out of her sockets if her astonishment continued to escalate. “Where the heck do you live, in a castle?” she muttered, and before I could correct her language, Daniel interjected.

“Hunter, watch your mouth. I don’t want to hear that again. Am I making myself clear?” he said, locking eyes with her. I braced myself for her reaction, but she merely bit her tongue and replied, “Yes, Alpha Daniel.”

He growled softly at her words, and I couldn’t help but giggle, knowing her usual sass was bubbling just beneath the surface. “Sorry, Daniel. That’s just her way of acknowledging she crossed a line. It’s better than the response she wanted to give you,” I explained, and I caught a glimpse of a smirk forming on Hunter’s face.
